Darkfall offers a unique set of features that you cannot find in any other game out there.

• Completely open world with no instances.
• True action combat, with friendly fire, no tab target, no autoattack, no lock on spells...
• FFA PvP. You dont like someone? Kill him, even if he is in the same clan as you. Unless ofc you are in a safe zone. :(
• Full loot, everything you or other people carry is lootable.
• Every single item you can wear is craftable.
• You can change your role at will. Be a warrior at one moment then be a mage the next. You are not stuck with one class forever like in most mmorpgs.
• You can progress your character how ever you like. You dont follow a predetermined path like in themepark games.
• It is pretty straight forward. You have fixed roles/classes. Atm it is only 2 roles per class so nothing much to combine
• Build your own city, your own house, your own boat.
• I wouldn't call it "building". Everything is pre set and you cant really influence the looks of it. You basicly only farm materials and are allowed to add a pre-set structure to your city. If you dont like the layout or the structure your city offers your are fucked. Houses are also pre set and there are limited spots in the world. Adding stuff to your house depends how lucky your chaos chests drops are
• Clan warfare, sieges, naval combat, territory control, huge epic battles, political meta-game.
• naval combat is limited atm and only offers one ship with one canon. There is no real territory control. You can live out of player cities and naturally you will meet more members of a clan that lives in this area. But there are no benefits of controlling a certain area. Villages are a joke

These are basically the features Darkfall has to offer. Dont know about you, but i cannot think of any other game that offers all the above combined. If you think this type of game is for you, then go ahead and preorder.

While yes, this is a beta, the pace it is moving at is snail like. Game is in no state to be fun at this point and seems to need atleast 6 months more in beta even at a fast development pace. Your question is should you pre-order... the answer is: not if you expect to have much fun in the game. My advice is to wait until it is launched and see if they actually make anything of this mess. From my years of experience with Aventurine... my hunch is it will launch as a buggy, incomplete piece of crap. They have done nothing recently to convince me otherwise. Quite the contrary, I think they have sunk to an all time low as if they don't care how the game turns out at all.

P.S.. I loved original Darkfall and subbed until it shut down. This is not Darkfall and is not at all what they promised their long time customers.

Yea obviously there are limits, its not minecraft, but the functionality is there. You do build and upgrade your house, you do build and upgrade your city and it can be destroyed or taken over.

Also, come on now, yea the roles and boats are not all in yet but they will be at some point and you know it. Might take a while since this is AV we are talking about, but yea...

darkfall 1.0 was already shit concerning sandbox elements..

Agree 100% this game is a big piece of turd and you can't make a POS shine.  Anyways remember back when they said they were ready to launch?  Well what a big load of *&^# , they were never even close to it and we aren't dumb and all knew that they decided to extend their "beta" to give us a chance to put in our feedback.  Their goal according to them was to fix up the final parts and polish up the game.  Well again that was a load of you know what, the game was no where complete and was bugged beyond bugged and how can anyone believe the game was even close to launching.  This supposed "beta" has turned into them buying more time and in this case and based on how things are moving (super snails pace) along, the game will need a year at least to fix and when it does come out it will be bugged beyond belief.

In short don't preorder it and just wait and see.  Also the game is no where near the Sandbox they claim it to be.

My guess is i was banned cause the moderator didnt like my political view and he wrote reason for banning was a puncture. Reason was a puncture cause he didnt have any reason for banning. So i was banned cause a corrupt moderator had a powertrip.

That is not serious moderation. 

I asked them 5-6 times why i was banned and never got an answer back. This problem goes all the way to the top of moderators cause the ones responsible for the moderators working professionely do nothing.

Yup ..

Its actually smaller than Darkfall and i dont just mean the water area.. the actual landmass is smaller.

There is only 1 continent and 4 big islands, then some little pointless islands.

Trackless underwater depths? well yeah you can go nuderwater but you will die when you run out of air.

Spawling underworld ? no idea what thats about..

Hundreds of dungeons? err no

I dont think it takes hours to travel from one side to the other.. but yeah it takes time..

Ok I'm the main man from DF1 anyway, I was bummed about this game, wobble was crap, it didn't feel good, it just felt lame, a few epic changes, actually listening to the playerbase's feedback has changed my mind, everyone wants a game like this at there comes a time when you just have to get behind them, I'll be playing at launch anyway.

If it gives half the fun/adrenaline from DF1 then it;s worth a shot.
