First Blood is currently made up of Darkfall 1.0 veterans whose various guilds have decided not to play again in an official capacity. We are looking for quality players interested in competitive PVP, crafting, & character progression. It is important that we foster an environment which promotes high skill levels, & the ability to learn.
If you're tired of the restrictions created by guild politics & rules, First Blood will be a good fit for you.
First Blood has the standard guild structure. Leadership controls guild relations, daily guild activities, facilitates the needs of the membership, and ensures guild milestones are met. Other than the Supreme General, all Officer positions will be voluntary for DF:UW. As the game progresses leadership positions will be filled by the best members for the job. Members that show the most playtime, interest, skill, and knowledge will be considered for available positions. Available positions will include squad leader, PvP assistant, resource officer, etc.
Recruits will be given trial status until leadership feels they have integrated sufficiently. Typically this trial status is removed within a week or two, and it does not restrict your access to resources or events.
We expect a certain level of maturity from our members, although we accept younger members as long as they show the intelligence and sophistication commonly found in older individuals. The First Blood leadership team has set-up an environment where players can communicate and make friendships that will outlast DF:UW.
Members are expected to integrate, and take part in daily activities. Players that cause drama, create cliques, or are prone to raging are unacceptable, and will be removed from the guild if necessary. Any minor issues will be dealt with via leadership mediation. All members are expected to be respectful to both the in-game and forum-fall community.
What to expect:
As a smaller guild (not a zerg) we may have a tough road ahead of us. Due to the nature of Darkfall it is important that our members avoid forming an emotional attachment to gear or property (pixels). We will lose a lot of gear, a hamlet or two, & possibly a member or two... but we will go on. Many of our members have experienced the zerg / conquest play style and found it unappealing. If you prefer a more relaxed leadership & play style, First Blood may be what you're looking for.
As a guild we will focus on player progression, player skill, and cultivating a great PvP team. We will learn as a group & develop our members' skills through guild events & PvP. Although we still lack information on the Merc. system, we will likely offer our services. Dedicated crafters are always welcome, and although we won't require any donations for these members, they may be offered freely.
Hacking/Griefing and Exploiting
First Blood thinks that hacking and various forms of exploiting are unacceptable. Any guild members caught doing either of these will be removed. All such accusations must be sufficiently proven before a member can be removed. We are a serious & respectable guild, we do not support this type of behaviour. Any community member that can prove one of our members is doing either of these should contact leadership. Said community member will be rewarded a small fee for their trouble.
Hacking & Exploits were a problem in Darkfall 1.0, and it's up to us, the game community, to help AV find these bugs. Please help us create a better Agon.
Resource contributions will not be required from members. We don't believe in forcing players to contribute their hard earned loot, and expect you to handle your own property. In the event we need a structure built, or pay a bill, any contributions will be voluntary.
We expect all members to think outside of the box to come up with new and innovative ways to solve hard & common problems. If there is a way to increase guild efficiency, improve our PvP skills, or simply walk from point A > B, feel free to speak up. We have forums for a reason.
Pre and Post Planning
Guild planning and organization is key to a guilds success in any game, and First Blood is all about achieving success. Our pre-planning for launch has already been completed, and is currently being tweaked as more information comes out before launch. We are ready to secure our small spot in the world of Agon. Post launch planning will develop as we figure out all the game mechanics. All members can have input and suggestions so that every eventuality is planned for ahead of time.
Unlike most guilds First Blood doesn't believe in scheduling mandatory events. Darkfall isn't WoW, or any similar type theme-park game. It's a dynamic open world MMORPG sandbox. You can't schedule for a game like this. There is no PvE or PvP nights in Darkfall. Having said that the guild plans goals accordingly based on the games dynamic nature. The only exception to this would be sieges, which will be posted in advance, with as much notice as possible.
Guild leadership will set overarching goals for the long and short term. These goals will change as the game changes. Guild goals are expected to be done in a timely fashion, yet allow members to have fun in the process. Individual goals will be set for members that need help in certain areas. Leadership and membership will work together to make sure all goal milestones can be reached. In the end all goals will be a group effort. Everyone will have succeeded, and there is nothing like the feeling of success. Our overall goal is to be competitive and have fun while doing it.
First Blood takes part in all types of PvP. From planned tournaments, city & hamlet raiding, and open world PvP. We are always down to practice combat inter-guild, or in setting up scrimmages with other friendly competitive guilds. Anyone interested in GvG scrimmages should contact leadership.
Our political stance is neutral to all guilds & under no circumstances will we consider joining an alliance. Our goal is to offer unimpeded character progression & PvP to our members. Play the game as you see fit, contribute to the guild in your own way. It is possible to form a friendly relationship with us, however it will not prevent open world PvP, and it has a few strings attached. Contact leadership if this is something you wish to discus.
We will most likely participate in the mercenary system introduced into the game, and we will have to work out those details at a later date.
That was long, but for good reason. It's important that prospective members have a solid understanding of our goals & policies, and I believe this post does that. What may not be completely clear is that we simply want our members to have fun. Darkfall is not a second job, and although we will be competitive, we expect our members to have a life. Lastly we believe in Darkfall, and want to see it succeed. We support AV and the Darkfall community.
