I haven't played Darkfall before and I heard on a youtube comments page a while ago that there wasn't going to be a character reset, is that true?
Because if there isn't then I'm not gonna start playing since I feel that the level disadvantage or whatever is probably going to suck.. |

All progress will be wiped. Also progression will be faster, since you a limited to one active skillset. Leveling up several skillsets will not be required, but possible.

Yeah Aventurine has stated that the new skill gains are going to be faster than what Darkfall was originally. They also keep stating repeatedly that a player can become viable faster within a specific given role yet it will take a while for a player to be able to branch out and become viable in all roles. This leads me to believe that while the skill gains ARE going to be faster (probably about 3-4 times faster than the original Darkfall), but they are NOT going to be as fast as some people are making them out to be. It'll probably take you about a month or two to be fairly viable in a very specific role if you focus on it. While in the Old Darkfall you have to branch out into everything to be viable. Currently with the 20x skill gains you can make a very viable character in a month of casual play and maybe a week under hardcore game playing. I HIGHLY doubt this will be the case with Unholy Wars. I don't think they would be constantly stating in forum posts and videos about being viable in SPECIFIC roles over and over again if you could become viable in everything so fast. |
