If you got excited about playing a browser-based MMO on your Mac, then keep looking. It somewhat works, but there are tons of glitches and problems. Hotkeys not working, zoom gets stuck, camera spinning, crashes, etc. The devs have just blamed the problems on Java and have ignored them for 6+ months. They say a standalone client should fix these problems but that it is still "far away" from release.

Anyway, this is just a public service announcement to keep some players from wasting their time. Also, I don't care if you like PCs over Macs. I use and love both. Deal with it.

I don't play Eldevin, so this is in no way being a fanboy.

You don't seem to understand much about computers.  Java is a multiplatform engine that allows developers to write code without caring what OS or browser you have.  Think of Java as a layer.  You have your computer, your OS, then your browser, then Java, then the game.  Each layer can interact with the layer next to it, but not beyond that.

In other words, if there is an issue with a Java program not working on your OS, the issue is with Java, your browser, or your computer.  The application behind it is likely fine and there isn't much they can do to fix it.  They can't reach beyond Java's capabilities to make your browser or OS work right with Java.

According to the forums (e.g. http://forums.huntedcow.com/index.php?showtopic=58242), there are some input problems on Mac and they have acknowledged them, but admit they can do little due to the lack of a testing platform for Mac. However, the poster of the thread claims to have fixed all problems by upgrading to Java 7 and using Safari.
