That's what i've read and that's why i've pretty much avoided games like these niche game titles. Saw a video of someone going around trying to help this guy kill zombies while they raided an abondoned house, he waited until the zombies were dead and then shot the guy from behind in the head and raided his backpack. not my idea of fun sorry.

Not mine either . Sounds like a game for sociopaths . Shame I really wanted to like this game but the more I'm hearing it just sounds like a massive deathmatch where you cant trust anyone .

If there had been some sort of factions where there were players you could interact with it might have been fun .

/facepalm

/Facepalm all your like m8 but if your someone that just wants to go out and kill other players and not interact with them in anyway shape or form your not someone that I would want to know .In real life or in a game . Part of the fun with mmos is the player interaction . This sounds more like a first person shooter to me than an mmo . Much as I love the zombie genre if you don't have any dialouge with others playing it  then this game will get boring fast . And if everyone you come across is out to kill you then your going to get no player interaction at all .

Yeah i am just going to facepalm again on your gross generalisations.

So what would you call someone who you help out who turns around and then shoots you in the back ?To me thats the very definition of a sociopath . Thats the context we are talking about here theres no generalisation needed . It sounds like it going to be a game thats going to attract a lot of unfriendly immature players . No community to speak of .

True but some games tend to be fun others dont . A lot depends on the community that they attract . For me and many others I would think . The social side of an mmo is part of what makes them fun . Helping someone in game only to get shot in the in back really isn't going to be much fun in the long run is it . Unless of course your the type are arsehat that likes shooting people in the back in video games and finds that fun . Its hardly a serious buisness but if you are going to falk out money for a game you want to get some idea of what its going to be like and the type of people playing it .

This sounds just like one massive deathmatch to me . Not what I look for in an mmo .

Thing is if it were a zombie appocalyspe people would have to work together for survival . Once someone helps you out its proberbly wise not to shoot them in the back .

I disagree. Not everyone will work together, when there is chaos and basic human needs need to be met people will turn on each other. If the game turns into a pure gank fest than it wasn't done correctly, for example in DayZ people don't kill others just because there is too much  risk in doing that.

If the torch was balanced as a weapon and took many hits to kill then there wouldn't be rampant spawn ganking as people would have a chance to run away or fight back.

Killing someone in 3 hits with a torch not realistic?? Did you mean not normal in video games?

I mean both, I have watched countless videos of these kills and they aren't headshots, it's just 3 smacks with a torch just waving it up and down and the other person is dead. That's not realistic nor is it good gameplay. Spawn every next to eachother with the ability to kill eachother in 3 single hits.

To kill someone with 3 hits of a torch in real life you would have to have the correct angle and force to even have a chance, chances are you wouldn't be able to hit someone like that 3 times without them having time to react. Unless you manage to hit them flush straight away and KO them.

Not to even start talking about how a bat or other melee weapon is currently weaker than a torch.

If people are spawn camping then the game has issues. DayZ for example has a lot of spawn points and you will rarely get into a situation like that one.

While I do love the idea of this type of game, instead of getting a gripping and engaging piece of entertainment like "The Walkind Dead" you get a mindless fragfest with no merit other then being an FPS game with Zombies.

For those that have to time to waste on these game (I might have when I was younger and hadn't realised the importance of time yet) it is probably good, a no brainer where you just kill everything. I will pass though but I have no idea where you thought this was in anyway linked to anything even remotely PvE.

No but if your someone that thinks its fun to shoot someone in the back after they help you in a game proberbly means you have some degree of sociopathic leanings or your pretty sad and immature in real life .

Are you someone that would do that though ?

Its a strategy, pretty simple really. When you have something to lose you just don't go and try to kill the person and risk getting killed. They used that strategy in DayZ as well. Try to befriend the person(which can be much easier) then later on kill them for their stuff. It has nothing to do with sociopath unless you do it because you enjoy it.

Do you kill pixellated representations of living beings endlessly in make believe worlds? I have enough perspective to separate a game from reality.

As to my actions in game, I play sandbox games, if I kill people it is to gain an advantage in some way in the make believe world in which I am competing.

Do you hesitate to take a piece in a game of chess?

"There is a back story to the game, but as far as there being a storyline that players need to follow within the game - the answer is no. The gameplay is designed to be open world sandbox so that players really have the opportunity to create their own, unique experience. We don't define any quests that you have to complete in order to obtain items in the game. However, players will be able to create their own quests and missions for other players and then post rewards for completing those missions. Once again - we just provide the tools and the players create the experience."

From the FAQ on the home page  . This suggest there will be some degree of a pve experiance . Even if it is a player generated one .

Not having the awareness to undestand that even in a make believe environment (such as films, books, games etc...) it exists in the real world and therefore has an effect....ouch, but that is bad news!

The problem with this kind of statement is that you make is as if the make believe world is totally disconnected to the real world. Believing that someones actions in a make believe world are not related in any way to the real world is actually a sign of some serious issues...or that the person is a complete idiot of course.

Of course someone could take it too far the otHerway but extremes in either direction are really bad (mostly why when I do any RP I like to do it with like minded people who are happy to play things out for the fun of the entertainment rather then any competition).

It means as soon as you spawn there is probably someone behind you about to kill you. At least in DayZ the spawns are spread out and you feel like you are in an end of the world scenario. Having spawn points so close and arming people with a deadly torch that hits harder than a baseball bat is just wonky.

As to my actions in game, I play sandbox games, if I kill people it is to gain an advantage in some way in the make believe world in which I am competing.

Do you hesitate to take a piece in a game of chess?

You didnt answer my question . Would you shoot someone in the back after they helped you in game ?

I have been playing the War-Z and I tend to try to get people to team up with me. It is hard because its hard to trust people on these small maps where most people shoot / kill on sight, but when I find people that really just want to team up, we end up having some fun. It will get better when / if they make zombies harder or add loot to them and  the zombie mechanisms and movements. Once they do that, people will come together and fight zombies to get loot, not just people.

As for PVP they are going to try and bring things in to cut down on the PVP but you will always get people who just want to PVP its the way of the game.

seriously....why do I read this forum

If you continue to make sweeping statements like you know what everyone everywhere thinks about a certain topic then I am going to shout at you.
It easy to type 'I think this is the worst game ever'
Rather than the 'This is the worst game ever'
