Did he really say that what he learned from his trip was that he's really going to try to make DayZ a good game and not just slap it together whereas he originally was thinking that's what he'd do to get it out quick?

Wow...thats just sad, Ripper even laughed it off but you can tell he was thinking, "did you just say that?!"

Effin_Rabbit writes: I think what he was saying was that he was frustrated with the process and wanted to get it finished ASAP. But after the experience of Mount Everest he felt rejuvenated for the project. If youve ever created anything you know that you can lose interest/motivation during the process which can lead to cutting corners. It happens all the time. Sat Jun 15 2013 12:11PM Report

SirBalin hes said that multiple times, in response to why hes pushed the release dates back.

Honestly it was a crappy question (sorry Rip) that Dean gave a very generic answer back to.

Im looking forward to this. And he doesnt need to worry about people not playing the game because its taking longer.

People will lose short term interest, this is the internet generation, but once its released they'll buy it, no matter how much they whined inbetween.

You guys should try to remember that this was originally a friggin' mod... something he did for free in his spare time, when he felt like working on it.  I would imagine he's feeling very overwhelmed and stressed right now, considering how *ruthless* the gaming community is when it comes to even the tiniest of game flaws.  I would also imagine he was hitting a point where he was just burned out in general.  Anyone who has worked on a large project knows a little how he feels.  Now add the public nature of the job, and you probably have no clue how he feels...

I'm really looking forward to his.  It's up there with Star Citizen, and The Repopulation on the top of my watch list.

Specifically for the response to that question: I can relate, when you've got a tight deadline to meet you sometimes just want to get the damn thing out there as fast as possible so you're done with it, but lose creativity in the process. It's a matter of calming down and starting with a clear head then to really put out the product you wanted. That's not something everyone can do. Sat Jun 15 2013 6:58PM Report

Hatefull writes: lol yes he is in way over his head.  He wrote a mod, an insanely popular mod, but that is a far step from making a stand alone game.  I give him credit for taking it on and sticking with it, he must have realized at some point he was taking a huge jump into the unknown.  But it looks like he will pull it off for better or worse, he will make a game which is no small feat. Nephaerius writes: I've seen a ton of footage of this game from E3 and I just pray to god they're not planning to launch any time soon.  The game really looks atrocious.  Everything pretty much still looks ripped straight out of ARMA, even the horrid menu/equip system.  The game is severely lacking in features at this point IMO. Nep what video are you commenting on?

From about 2:55 on he opens up the new inventory system. And I can tell you thats not Arma2's, its unique to DayZ, along with that very basic pseudo-crafting system.

So are you just trolling or just didnt bother to watch the vid before you posted?
