I actually didn't see it on the game list, but has anyone heard of The War Z

I actually heard of DayZ along time ago, never tried it but I saw it on game list and thought it was WarZ.  I have no idea if the two are related, but WarZ seems like a stand alone MMO where DayZ has hosted servers.  Anyone else tell me the main differences?

Serious question: Is this a joke?

"I saw it on game list and thought it was WarZ" that gave me some serious chuckle, if you haven't followed the backlash of WARZ and it's relation to DAYZ. You probably won't get the joke.

Ok prob should have done some more research on WarZ, but litterally seems to be the exact same thing as DayZ.  The question is has anyone played it?  If so which game do you prefer?

Yea don't get it at all.  I had only seen WarZ once and couldn't remember the name of it.  Knew it had a Z in it though, so saw Day Z and thought it was the same game : /

WarZ it self is just a joke money hugging game, they took advantage of Dayz popularity and created a game using an engine of  WarInc another game they have and created something to compete with Dayz. WarZ is just a bad made game they tried to take advantage and even charge $$ for beta and the game design itself is bad. Also even got a bigger problem when they tried to publish via Steam with false information.

There was a lot of hoopla about people picking up WARZ thinking it was Dayz. It didn't go over well to put it lightly.

Not sure when Dayz SA releases. No you won't need ARMA for it.

Yeha dont bother playing DayZ, its such a bad gameplay.. wait for the standalone and hope its better..

WarZ.. well its fun gameplay, but its pay to win really.. so make your choice :)

I have yet to read a review that mentioned this "fun" you speak of.

well I think its fun, thats my review ;-) I'm sure there's positive reviews out there.

But of course DayZ is a MOD that cost what ARMA2+Expansions cost and War Z is a full released game that cost money to buy alone...

But still, War Z is a better game, thats my opinion :) But I'm not saying War Z is a perfect zombie-mmo-game! There's a lot of stuffs I want to see improved.

Well I do hope DayZ standalone is a better game than both WarZ and DayZ Mod.

Yes, we've all heard of War Z. It's a very poorly done ripoff of Day Z. It's mired with controversy and problems. They can't even call themselves War Z anymore, but they still do. The game is claimed to be launch ready even though the game itself still has Alpha tags all over the place. They were pulled off steam and the only attention the game ever managed to get was extremely negative attention. 

It's one of those games that was pretty much universally despised by all but a few. 

If you want to play War Z then I'd recomend waiting on the Day Z stand alone because War Z isn't even worth playing if they were paying you to do so. I wish I could think of a single redeeming feature but, I can't.
