I watched my brother play this game for a few minutes about a month ago and the concept looked good. Then my friend bought it a couple nights ago and loves it. So I am wondering is there a good sustainable population? I love the concept of this game and I think I might get it just to have to play every now and then. The more I read about it and watch videos the more interesting it gets. Too bad I missed the Steam sale on this game the other day :/

Thanks, What is the max per server? I read there are like 3000 servers as well is that true? Might go get Arma 2 CO tomorrow and get DayZ installed.

max i seen so far is 100 player server...if u want a goodserver join U.S 231 or filter vigilant or if your a noob join the vigiliant noob class server it has crossheirs lol

typical server has 50 slots there are sometimes with 30 or 60 and yes there are 3000 servers. Soon t here will be 1 mil players that have played this game (mod)

50 is generally the max per server. While the map is large, even with 50 players you are bound to run into one of them fairly quickly.

Like real life - you walk in the country you prob wont see anyone else.  Get to populated areas and you will run across loads.  Have fun and hope to see you in game soon.

Hah thanks for the tip on a good server. I appriciate it. Thanks all who have responded as well. Think I will buy the game tomorrow! Still a little mad I missed the 40% off lol oh well..I will just get the game from amazon download. I ask for nothing but amazon cards for my bday and xmas I have soooooo many I haven't used yet.

You know how people are always saying that the worst part of a post apocalyptic scenario would be the other survivors?  Yeah, that's basically true here.  For some players it's about running from zombies, but for others it's a survivor hunting simulator. lol

You'll want to join a zerver with around 20-30 players.

The map isn't detailed enough to support more players really, otherwise you'll find it so hard to find loot. Maybe if you could enter every building and there was more loot it would be better but right now you can hardly enter any buildings.
