Today, in the strange but true category, Reuters is reporting on an incident in Spain where real world politics has spilled over into the virtual world of Second life. Spanish political parties are accusing each other of a form of virtual terrorism, saying that rival party members have attempted to burn down each other's party offices in the game.
MADRID, May 17 (Reuters) - Spain's bitter political wrangling has spread to Second Life, where supporters of socialist and conservative parties are accusing each other of trying to burn down party offices in the virtual world.

I am not going to pick sides on the topic at hand; my statements are only again the general populist of the world. I feel with the induction of IP rights, and transferable funds, more and more people are going to take advantage of the world feeling they can treat it with the same rights in real life. It’s a game, a chat room, a community. If the community fails the world fails… and really what would be the fun in that?
God I hope we don't go through this once VR comes around!
Clearly this is why I preach for seperation between games and goverment, just like the church and goverment.
I know, this is rediculous. Can you guys even believe this is happening? Second Life should truly rename to First Life, give it a bunch of real life laws, and have cops bust in your house in real life if you feel like having some pvp.
So stupid stupid stupid.
