Unfortunately, while the leveling experience is a blast. I found myself fizzling out for much of the same reason I did in FFXIV. Once I started to hear about what a grind the end game veteran content was and that there really isn't much else to do besides that and pvp I just kinda lost my desire to get there. If the game didn't have a sub I would definitely log on to soak up some more of the story, but with other games on my plate including another sub game I can't see myself doing that right now.

Developers underestimate the power of player housing. It can really be a long term endgame for the less hardcore gear grind oriented like myself.

Kinado writes: Maaaan, this just shows how naive Zenimax is with MMO gamers. Of course people wouldn't limit themselves to only 4 players in craiglorn if they can do some farming routes with 20+. This game needs such a overhaul that its hard to believe they ll make something out of it. Such a freaking shame, they built a beautiful world. Thu Jun 12 2014 1:41AM Report

I think they do it right. The MMO hoppers and haters are gone and what is left is a user base that simply likes the game. Zenimax can now start to further develop the game catering to the liking of this user base. You can say, TESO found its niche.

Btw. Veteran Rank leveling can be understood a grind IF you set yourself under pressure and make it a grind yourself, but if you simply play the game and without forcing yourself to reach level X within a certain timeframe, you will have a different experience.

Also, quick progress in veteran ranks is a matter of how you level. If you stick to the quests, you will need time. If you do some group dungeons and add some pvp, you will be much quicker.

I can't tell you how sad that makes me feel. What a waste!

Asariasha writes: Why do you consider it a waste? Every single product fits a certain niche. There's nothing wrong about it, especially when considering that the online games market has matured. Thu Jun 12 2014 8:28AM Report

every mmorpg is a niche in the game industry because about 5-10% of the gamer population play them.  Because in truth they all really suck which is why im most interested in Destiny and Division because they arent exactly mmos but arent exactly the typical multi-player/single player games.  They are its own breed and in my opinion better than mmos.
