Though the Imperial race perks are decent, they are not game breaking by any means and you can build similar races with comparable (not identical) passives.

The real bonus is being able to take any weapon, armor, etc and change it's appearance to that of the Imperial style look.  It's a great feature if you like that style and hate being in mis-matched gear.

I personally think it's great to have a collector's edition that actually brings some value, even if it is mostly cosmetic.

@JJ82 -  Imperial race perks are shit.  They have a 10% chance to restore 6 health at level 50.  Assuming sword and board, that equates to roughly 1/2 HP per second if you're straight up using light attacks and doing nothing else.  That's 1/4000th % of your total HP per second.  In other words, it would take you more than an hour of spamming attacks to go from 0 HP to full HP, assuming no one is attacking you.

 

Compare that to the Nord's 15% increased HP regen in combat, which can possibly be anywhere from 10-20 HP/second, and doesn't require you to attack things to get it.  That's at least 20x as good.

 

Health is also one of the worst stats to get % bonuses in, since it's so easy to cap for anyone wearing heavy armor.  I would take the orcs 6% stam / 6% health over the straight 12% health any day (stamina is better 1 for 1 compared to health too, as it gives more secondary stats like damage.)  

 

The best racials don't contribute towards stats that easily reach the soft cap.  Things like the stealth radius of the Bosmer / Khajit or the Argonian's swim speed/ potion effectiveness or the High Elf's %elemental damage, or the Dark elf's +Spellpower for fire.

 

The Imperial is one of the worst, if not -the- worst race when it comes to his abilities.

achesoma writes: Like I've said before. ESO has stat caps and they cap quickly. The racial passives aren't anything special because of this.  Just by equipping proper gear or picking up other passives will achieve the same thing.
