Latest Headlines for Elder Scrolls Online

  • Is Zenimax Being Secretly Transparent?

One of the best things a game developer can do is get direction from those who play it. While a developer may have passion for the game they are creating, they will never understand the game itself like those who play it day in and day out. We play the games for a lot longer than any developer. So of course we all have feedback and design concepts that we feel could improve the overall quality of the game.

  • Should Free Trials Begin?

Ever since the switch to a subscription-optional The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited model for PC, along with the console versions coming in less than a month, the chance to get friends to give the game a shot is ever-more tempting. While the game has been busy since the relaunch, and megaserver tech keeps things buzzing, there are two things that would go a long way to help friends get others into the game, as well as one related possible misstep.

  • Three Things ESO Does That More MMOs Should

The Elder Scrolls Online has been released for over a year now and I still think the game gets under-credited. Recently I've reduced the amount of time I've spent in Tamriel and ventured to other games to explore what is new. Sadly, nothing feels new, everything that's out right now feels like the same old lollipop in just a slightly different flavor.

  • Imperial City & Orsinium Incoming

The Elder Scrolls Online Twitter has a new post that lets players know that the next update will feature the Imperial City, set to be released after the console launch in June and to be followed by Orsinium sometime after that.

  • Could the Console Version Be the Definitive Edition?

The Elder Scrolls Online is coming to console in just over a month. With the console beta in the books, and players sharing their experiences with the game in various places around the internet, as a PC player, several few patterns stand out and make me wonder if the console versions will be the definitive version of ESO, and if this game just might be a breakthrough for MMORPGs on console overall.

  • A Little Rant on Motif-Gate

Before I go any further with this rant, I need to explain something first, otherwise I'll get Twitter/Steam/in-game messages asking why I'm still playing ESO. ESO is a great game, with a fantastic company behind it. But it just so happens that this fantastic company has blundered and has the community in a stir. With all the commotion that this blunder has created perhaps it will help Zenimax find better solutions to future endeavors.

  • So, Where Do We Go From Here?

Until The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited hits consoles in June, expect that the team's focus will be on fixes, picking up some pieces dropped in previous updates, and new ventures like crown store items (some new pets just arrived). For PC players, this lull had plenty of advance warning. It's still a good time to revisit some of the changes promised before and yet to come.

  • One Year Later, Ten Times Better

It's been a year since Elder Scrolls Online first launched. And while it was a rather contentious game, with hype levels through the roof, I reviewed ESO here on the site. In short, I liked a great deal about it, but knew it had some kinks to iron out. Well, in the year since launch the team at Zenimax has been working feverishly like a Khajit slave to improve their flagship MMO.

  • New Systems Over New Content

Zenimax Online Studios seems to have adopted a unique way to release content, a way that has some of the community upset and calling the content "unfinished". Is it really unfinished content or is Zenimax releasing their content in a way that will keep players interested and engaged?
