This mmorpg has the best questing I have ever experienced. It's not like those kill 10 and collect 10 quests. These quests make you want to explore the world and have fun. Glad I purchased this game. It's such a refreshment from the old school formula of fetch quests.

I think they did questing really well. I have been having fun in the world so far, even though I'm only on the second area.

Posting anything positive on this forum you are looking to attract the people that can't wait to pounce on a thread like this though. Ready yourself to read a 1000 word essay about how the game ruined someone's life and now they are homeless.

Actually it is the same kill 10 collect 10 escort NPC and all those other things quests generally make you do... But it is very very well wrapped in story and lore, which suddenly makes the whole old questing very very immersive.  Personally, i am a big big fan of this and really love it..

However the cklickerdyclick crowd, that does not read or listen to quest NPC´s and straightly aims for the questgoals, does not get the same experience, and so recognises the same old questing goals very easy. And is allready complaining about this..

And thats why i have been saying ever since the NDA dropped... this game is not for the clickerdyclick crowd that does not read or listen to quest texts.

But people that loved the questing in TSW, SWTOR and Lotro, will certainly love this game too.

I dont know why, but i agree with the OP, this games questing even feels better then those three games noted above, and so i agree that this game has the best quests so far of any MMO.

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

The 1 to 50 questing is very well done.  I really got invested in the story and wanted to see how it turned out which is a rare thing in this day and age of MMO's.  However the transition from 50 to VR1 questing is kind of awkward and has left me really not caring about what these people who a few levels ago where my enemies are doing.  The opportunity was here for Zenimax to really make this part shine by making you question the loyalties you developed 1-50 and most of the things you did but instead they treat you like a level 1 player new to the game and expect you to forget what you already did.

I have no issues with the VR leveling speed or having you do the other factions zones but I really think they could have done a better job on the transition.  It comes across kind of contrived at least to me.

I loved the questing during the early levels, but the more I played, the more it looked tedious and repetitive. At about lvl40, you understand where the hub quests and things get a bit formal (3 anchors, 16 skyshards, 1 group-public dungeon, about 10 public dungeons per zone, rinse and repeat) and everything get predictable (When I begin to quest, I can predict where I will be, what I will be doing in the next hour).

I enjoyed the levelling of Daggerfall, even with the repetitive quests, but when I came to the Aldmeri levelling, I just bursted out. After discovering the 145th plot to kill the false queen, curing the 67th epidemic, freeing and honoring the 98th haunted tomb and killing the 127th group of bandits, it just got boring.

+ the fact that there's only one levelling kind of blocks from rerolling (And there aren't even multiple zones for same level in one faction)

Edit: And I can't really get immersed in the world because of the fast-travel and the fact that every "hub quests" are close to each other

Open world + great lore + stunning graphics makes you want to quest even before you have seen the quests. :)

Yes for the first thousand or so... then you realize it's a one trick pony and the only viable way to level. All of a sudden, not now maybe, in a week or so, it gets old and boring fast.

Yeah I agree, they deifntly designed the quests in a way where you feel like you are being rewarded for exploring.

as Ive stated in other threads, this is the best themepark exploration focused MMO out there. Sometimes I admit I skip over some dialogue when I have too many quests and don't want to forget what Im focused on, but in general I think the questing compared to other MMOs is rock solid. Just wish the design of the dungeons and architecture was a little more varied.

Thought the questing was great till veteran levels. I like to quest solo so I can read the quests and go where I want to go etc. This was fine till veteran levels where you can still solo the quests but it becomes super tedious.

For me, the fun part of the game is combat. Since veteran levels I find myself sneaking around everything to avoid combat.

You will like it until high 30 low 40. Then its been there done that. Rivenspire was very well done in daggerfall covenant during the high teens.

I agree the quests are very well done. Makes Leveling fun and interesting. However as the only viable way of leveling you did limit people's enjoyment who don't enjoy lore or questing. I have still had a blast in dungeons and treat them as a treat , because you really should only do them once for maximum xp and quicker leveling.

I still do a good mix of public dungeons, pvp, questing and 4 mans and it has been great so far sitting at lvl 43

The only faction that gets better as you go is EP, really seems to pick up in quality as you hit the Nord areas, wheres the other two seem to go downhill as you reach the 4th zone.

Got to agree.

I love ESO questing... haven´t found a single "kill ten rats" quest... They involve exploration and lore.

Can´t get enough of it!!!

I just reached level 30 and just went back to lower areas to finish them ALL.... while exploring i discovered i had missed A LOT of them....

Really awesome game :)

All of history is a lie. The truth depends on who does the listening, and who does the telling...

Yeah one of the few things I think they got right was the questing. I was enjoying it before the repetitiveness of the rest of the game got to me. Combined with all of the issues with the multi player portion of the game and I had had enough. But yeah, the questing was pretty good.
