Anyone who wants to go into outer space is not playing with a full deck! (Example: Richard Garriot)

I loved Guild Wars until about 3 months after Factions released.  When Anet realized that the world was too large for PUGs, and started developing NPCs to take over the job of other players, I forgot why I loved the game.

If a company attempting to make an MMO, failed that horribly...I can't possibly risk spending 50 dollars on another blunder.

Wrong

Henchman were added to the game just a few weeks before release...  Of Prophecies a year before

The intention of ArenaNet was NEVER to create an MMO, but  PvP game with FPS and RTS stylings, which they did, with fanominal success!

Guild Wars 2 however will be making a departure from that towards the MMO feel...  the PvP side will be the same though, plus the added World PvP... However, as an MMO?  Fully persistant world? can party with anyone anytime?   Can solo when you want?   Yep, its an MMO

I have the exact opposite feeling about Guild Wars.

I started playing when Factions came out and I think the game only got BETTER from there, exactly because of the changes the developers made which reduced the need for PUGs. Most of the times when I remember having to PUG in Guild Wars the results were usually disasterous. Half of the people in the group would be members of my guild who I was talking to on our vent server and the other half would be random folks who I couldn't talk to at all, not only because they weren't on the vent server but because they wouldn't listen to the in-game chat either. Situations like these usually ended with the entire team getting wiped because of something stupid one of the non-guild members of the party did and everyone else would rage quit as a result of it.

Later when they added heroes it made things vastly better because we didn't need to PUG. If my guild only had enough people online to form half a team, then everyone brought one hero character and the problem was solved. Some people claim this ruined the grouping aspect of the game. I disagree, I think it made it better. I was still grouping with people on a regular basis, the only difference was that I was only grouping with people I actually WANTED to group with and I wasn't being forced to drag along a bunch of idiots who I didn't know and who wouldn't listen to me. Thats a big improvement in my book.

I've heard the rumors for awhile that GW2 will have more "MMO" style to it and that they probably won't inculde NPC Henchmen or Heroes. If that turns out to be the case I probably won't even play it. If I want to spend all day shouting "LFG" in a room full of morons then there are plenty of other places I can do that without even having to pay for it. I think the Guild Wars developers made the right decision by taking the game in the direction that they did and now it seems to me that they are doing a 180 with GW2 and taking it in the exact opposite direction. I don't know what wack ass logic they used to come up with that plan but it doesn't sound like something I want any part of.

I am all for the idea of GW2 being very similar to WoW with no subscription fees and better graphics. I am definitely going to purchase this game.People who dont purchase it  are  >  .

The thing that hurt GW the most were the instances and now they will be almost non existant. Only for the Mission portions of the game which are not going to be that much because they will be cutting down on most of the number of missions and focusing on the more played parts of the game. I hope they still have a thing related to the Faction Battles though. Like hfffing and Kurz Vs. Lux type thing. That made Gw so much more fun and it is always a big thing for the whole guild to do together.

DEFINITELY BUYING !!!!!!!!!!!

Currently Playing: Guild Wars, Dungeon Runners.
Played:Guild Wars, Dungeon Runners, WoW, WC3, Starcraft, RuneScape, Wurm.

I purchased the original GW only and it wasnt a bad game by any means.  It is to early to tell if I will be purchasing GW2.  I do not know much about it other than the fact it is supposed to be more of a traditional MMO.

I will just have to see what it looks like around launch time :)

I have invested too much time and energy into my favorite GW1 character, I would only purchase a new campaign I could use my current character on. I don't have any interest in starting over from scratch.

well done, you missed the point

GW2 and the Hall of Monuments will allow your characters name and acchievements to becarried over to GW2, because your character will be long dead from oldage...

However, this ISN'T a new campaign orexpansion, this is a brand new game that will link to Guild Wars for character info and account info
