Dead.... I reinstalled the game because I heard the population was still good, but there wasn't a single player anywhere in any of the places you'd normally expect to see people. LA was a ghost town as well/

I logged into GW1 last night and found 2 full districts in Kamadan, Lions Arch had 2 districts, Embark Beach surprisingly had around 30-40 players and most of the smaller hubs had around 1-15 players. The best advice I can give is to get dailies and go to those areas each time you play, you will almost always find groups to share the game with you.
