how iritating, i go on for the first time in months, and everything is fine, i then go on the next day and iv been hacked :| nearly 250k worth of stuff, yet they took all my materials and non of my rare ones :| very dodgy, and the most anoying thing about it all is that all i could do was change my password and report it, god damn thats anoying, iv been playing it since day one as well

This things almost never happen and it is usually user's fault. Did you use strong password, never shared account and protected your computer against spayware/viruses? I've been playing more than 3 years and this never happened to anyone I know. Security has improved in the last year by adding security questions and requiring you to write character name to log in.

also check your e-mail. ncsoft sends you an email containing IP adress of the computer that tried to log in to your ncsoft account!

yep iv got everything secured, id never share my guild wars account since it is too precious, i dunno i could of just been one unlucky fool :( 

I hope you get this sorted out, but unfortunatelly I think ncsoft can't retreive your items back :(

im ok with that i suppose, the money was just doing nothing tbh but im just worried about my acounts safety, but i have changed passwords and they hadnt used my ncsoft master account to access anything so i dont know :/ but il make sure i hear back from ncsoft

Yea, make sure you know all security questions as they will be crucial to your account's safety. Ncsoft's new security policy requires answering them everytime you try to login from different IP adress. Pretty strong imo.

This information you must always know to keep your account safe: username, password (even though hacker changes it), email, security questions, at least one character name, cd-keys. With this information you will always be able to retreive your account back.

Looks like you had a keylogger for some time now and they just hacked your account on the first opportunity.

i've been hacked once before, and were in the same boat as you,

i did mange to get my account back, but items are lost, and they do not reimburse

i learned to live with that and was glad to have my characters back 

the guy could have deleted my chars if he wanted.

i got a slightly differnt thing yesterday

while playing for the canthan new year, i got an account wide ban, all of a sudden.

for this reason:

"We have detected that your account may have been accessed by an unauthorized individual. For your security, further access to the account has been blocked until this matter can be resolved. To restore access to this account, please contact Support and one of our representatives will assist you." 

basicly meaning someone hacked me or tried to.

now it will take them 48 hours to resolve my appeal, i can give them anything from my keys to any info they need of my characters. it's my account and it has been so for 6 years. 

the thing is, they cut off my access to the game AND NCSoft account in general, so i can't even read or update my support ticket since i can't login :)

i keep scanning my computer but i havnt fount anything yet :| but as a precaution and a little paranoid thing i had going i formatted my c drive and reinstalled windows

that is really bad, i know everything they do is for the best security but it can make things so difficult on our end cant it

Just a note here: The support ticket system is (if not very obvious) completely separate from your NC-Soft account.

Different login so you should be able to log on to the supportsystem or to use the email support option.

I hope you get everything resolved.

well i reinstalled windows (after formatting my hdd), changed my guild wars password and everything  was fine for a few days until today, where now when i try and log in the game tells me my account has been blocked because someone unauthorized has tried to access it, iv submited a ticket with ncsoft just now, but my problem is how is this my fault there cant quite possibly be a key logger on my comp again can there ? i havnt been doing any downloads of the sort, i just got my anti virus/internet security, got guild wars and played :| :(

I got hacked too! Guild Wars is refusing to give it back though... I have the access key though...

Change your email password, or attach your account to a new email completely.

Guild Wars Account Restorations

i havent been hacked as of yet but play with a few close friends ,,, dont know if you guys remeber this ,, in the last year ,, WoW  accounts were hacked ,, rift account were hacked ,,, and i belive there was 1 other ... all which were hacked from the server side ,, so maybe this guy wasnt hacked but they hacked into ncsoft so well noone noticed yet? ,, in any instance it may have something to do with your username since the one buddy that got hack on the wow and rift i know his username starts with a B and mine starts with a M ,,, anyways just a thought ,, still sucks to be hacked in any form
