Exarch was a sci-fi fantasy MMORPG in development from Realm Interactive. Mixing sci-fi and fantasy elements in a world of advanced technology, the game featured on traditional RPG combat, with mouse movement, and featured many instanced quests. These quests stood out as they were written such as different outcomes and circumstances could occur for different people, even in the same quest. When it comes to weapons and armor, there were typical fantasy weapons like bows alongside things like cyborg implants and guns, making the game's options pretty varied. There were three planned races, with several classes between them.
Exarch, in this phase, was in its second development phase at the time by developer Realm Interactive, and it was canceled in 2004. Later, NCSoft picked production back up, assigning its third and final team to the project, adding humor elements, changing several mechanics and details, and renaming it Dungeon Runners. Dungeon Runners is set to shut down in early 2010.
