Snail may not be winning any Golden Stars for customer service but it is a great game.

Also to say Snail is the worst game company after the Sim city debacle is entertaining. If a company was to be declared worst company in the world for failing to satisfy a small minority of customers who were unhappy or having issues with their service, every company in existance would be closed down.

Age of Wushu has its issues.  That much can be said.  It's difficult to translate from chinese to english and the non-western world seems to accept the rental system of ownership of everything from in game clothes, to the bags you use (Yes, your bags wear out in 720 hours and then have to be replaced).  There are no permenant mounts (they also wear out) and even a subscription does not change the rental system.  The game seems complicated until you get into it and I highly recommend you join a friendly guild and ask nicely for assistance on understanding why the quest you have failed 17 times in 24 hours why?  and then find out you were not actually supposed to fight the mobs in the mission, just escort a guy all the way to the main boss who he will personally beat to death for you.  You will find a lot of griefers (western and otherwise, not sure why veitnamese players are in the american version of the game) who will stop you when you are in a group team practice and kill you by knocking you off a cliff into water when you are afk/offline.  But there is a good community within the game.  The community includes many people who care about kungfu and to me this game plays like saturday morning kung fu theater (my age no doubt, the younger players would have expected "the kung fu channel" LOL).

Personally I am ceasing my play on my account and going to just keep my skills leveling in case they create an option for an affordable permenant mount, bags that dont disintegrate over time, and other ways to get my money.  I would HAPPILY subscribe to the game, but I dont want to spend my already limited play time going to market to replace what I expected to be on my character - it did take me 4 days to figure this out, but I was excited about the game and its basic history.  And dont get me started on the cash shop where you rent costumes for 30 days for $30 (whole set).  Oh yeah, non-subscribers are limited to one hour of game play a day.  Again, I dont see a problem with that part if I am not going to have to become a crafter just to support my character's basic needs.  Food, you have to buy or you will not regen energy or hps.

Good news, plenty of f2p mmos to fill my time while I look around and wait.  Shame, I was excited about Wushu til I got wind of the reality this morning.  Still am hoping for Snail to understand the western mindset.

Btw... I have reported to the GMs through the bug reports every mispelling, bug I have encountered once I have figured out what the real issue was and they took my report happily.  Everytime I felt like I was treated with respect.  I know they have some issues, but the in game GMs seemed like they are providing good service.

Bags should, horses are questionable. At the same time you can buy all that stuff ingame. I bought my horse for 450 liang. There's no reason you can't make that in a month.

DamonVile- Games built for disposable players are now apparently built by disposable employees.

This is a key problem with AoW - people are so used to being coddled into mindless grinding that no one takes the time to actually figure out a game before spouting off whatever.

Yes, I realize that for whatever reason - US players dislike timed items.  There's no real great reason behind it, just that when they pay for something, they want it forever (nevermind that it will last only so long as you play the game).  Getting a little more specific, let's talk about the bags.  The crafted one lasts 30 days.  You can buy them for under 10L which should take roughly 15 seconds to make (ie. one kidnapping).  Nevermind that there are people in your guild (yes, join a guild ASAP) who are tailors/craftsman who will almost certainly be willing to trade for your crafts specialized mats.  If you are a Chef, provide food for the guild all the time - people will notice and a good guild will have players that reciprocate such generosity in kind.

Sidenote: Chefs are completely needed and taken somewhat for granted.  Show a little love to your Chef friends every once in awhile, but I strongly suggest never paying for any food - just provide the mats and get the service.

Horses should be time bound.  Tack on the extra $3 or so, and you have about $12 a month to play a very good, if unpolished, game.  That's quite reasonable if compared to any P2P title.

You have to be willing to learn and spend the time to learn in AoW.  If you don't, expect to be perpetually poor and bad at PvP.  This is a game for people that value intelligence and like getting rewarded for it.

You can usually buy the Dawan Horse for 10L -15L which lasts for 2 weeks.

 ^ This.

I suspect that some of the people who are complaining are merely a veiled attempt at trying to ruin the reputation of AoW, because they don't like the ganking-vs-risk system in tis game since they just like ruining the game of the lowbies and care not about real pvp.

They don't like it when people try to become gamechangers.
