I remember the first time I was chasing someone through Chengdu, roof tops on the street almost had them and then bam...he ran up the freaking wall!...not some small wall either the big city wall. So of course, being mostly out of jumping power myself I had to go around looking for the stairs and by the time I got to the top he was long gone. That was the moment I wanted the wall walking skill. Epic escape.

Just lwo nights ago I am shopping stalls in Chengdu, looking for a sword upgrade I think, when out of nowhere a pair of people start hitting me. Apparently their guild was mad at mine for some reason...I don't know...but I swing my swords sending them flying in one direction while I haul ass in the opposite direction. They give chase...roof top chase, I find a corner to hide in while they go running past I hit the one in the back and he turns around...ok 1vs1 now I can do this..he jumps up on my roof and I promptly knock him back down to the street just as his friend realizes what happened and turns around..time to run again...there was a lot of running around that fight.. Chengdu makes it interesting because you feel like you are in a real city with bystandards around and activity that has nothing to do with you and your little fight.

Thanks for breaking the guild war system down. I'm still guildless.  The last few mmorpgs I've played, guilds have just burned me out. I'm not sure why, but the do. I'm looking forward to joining a guild for launch though. I want to be apart of the guild wars goodness.

You can form a 1 man guild if you wanted to. ou basically spend 300 npc silver form a guild. During this time you have 3 days to add 4 other people in. When you have alts or friends join to fill, you click on the Guild Administrator and in the search section there will be 2 tabs, established guilds and probation guilds. Click the second tab and your guild should be there. Then you click your guild and press Respond to guild at the bottom and your alts should automatically join until you get 5 and then it becomes a full guild.

Alts need to have done 1st school quest and the return quest from your main storyline before you are able to join.

As far as Unbound or Player Silver as I like to call it, you can get it from Escorts but they are only available during special hours and they need to be done in a team of 6. While you are doing them messages are going out to people to raid your escort so it can be decent sized PvP while you are doing it.

There is also Begging and Divination that you can charge people silver for but is hard unless you are higher level and Divination books are VERY expensive. Since I don't kidnap I am planning on living off what I made from the bag event with the offline silver as a nice bonus.

Just a little error with your information regarding guild wars, you can set a guild as a sneak attack target and go burn it whenever you like, but the 'guild war' event where you try to takeover some other guild's castle can be fought daily at a scheduled time. However if a castle was attacked, it goes into a 72 hour protection period, together with the attacking guild's castle. As far as i know you can use silver to get your castle out of protection. So if your guild doesn't own a castle, you can attack other castles everyday if you wished to

Wrong.

You can make unbound silver in game just fine from school patrols, spy missions, escorts,

Not in AoW(US).

You get only bound Silver Coins 4 doing this.

As I have yet to download and install I have absolutely no idea what this means.  1ding ... 100liang .... Bound Silver?  I got the usd and can only assume the rest is in game currency that has to be purchased with real money.  Bottom line is how much?

To be fair here I have spent $50 - $60 dollars on many a game that I played for less than a month.  I have no problem dropping a few bucks to play a decent game.  Again, how much can one expect to pay to play AoW effectively?

Thanks

The initial 20 dollars is enough to play effectively. Bound silver is basically NPC money, you can't trade it, send it to other characters and can't use the money on anything but NPC purchases and when you wish to practice martial arts cultivation which has a level dependent cap. Unbound silver can be traded and is the primary currency for all your stall purchases with other players. You can earn unbound silver by simply being offline, or if you wish via kidnapping, or crafting. The money system is Ding, Liang and Wen. 1 Ding = 1000 liang, 1 liang = 1000wen, it is the same for both currencies.

lol it depends on how u want to play the game, if u are very competitive by nature, be prepared to spend lots of real money,  buying the OP skills, renting the fastest horse per month, paying for premium VIP status yep there is a normal and permium VIP status (in the CN version, they have not announced anything yet for the NA version but from their track record and shady biz antics), buying the best equipment and training skills using unbound silver.

its p2p and f2p and gold selling everything in one game awesome, just need to open ya wallet and let the cash flow out hehe

You can make unbound silver in game just fine from school patrols, spy missions, escorts, kidnapping etc. Just going out and harvesting materials and selling them to other players will make you some decent money. I have played for a couple of months now (in the Russian beta) and not spent a cent of real life cash.

Not that you really need unbound silver anyway, except to buy food. If you want to spend money on skill books that's a matter of individual choice, but I got mine from running instances.

I also played for weeks on the russian server and i never got any unbound from school patrols, spy missions or escorts only bound silver,  i got a little from kidnapping but mostly a few hundred wen, i also didnt get any from offline jobs are these ways of getting unbound only for vips?

Tried gathering but most stuff thats worth something is guardet night and day by high lvl players with fully upgradet silver equip that kill you if you even look at the ressource node.

lol

Seems this game is getting a lot of love. I have been digging it a bit but there are a few things I think are badly done. Love the vibe and ancient china styling though it looks a bit dated it is still very pretty. Graphics are not at all demanding and the game handles smoothly. Great social systems and variety of moves to be learned with fluid animations. The pve is pretty lame but the pvp is pretty dam good. The things that bother me the most are the lack of any voices anywhere, feels like I'm back on super nintendo in that regard. Npc's are bland as all hell though this is somewhat made up for with the pvp interactions.

Question= Do the min games get more involved? I picked musician because I make music in real life so it was fitting but the mini game is ultra wack, not even intime with the music. Was very boring but might just be early levels situation.

I see this game being a good alt game for me but not the game I will invest all my time in so far.

Good gaming all :)

When I eat chocolate chip pie it just doesn't feel like chocolate chip cookies. The texture, the consistency, it's just not the same and this is disappointing.
