So, being a long-time player of XI and having gone through all you did, the storylines, missions, the milestones and such - all of it making the journey to 75 what the game was about, rather than *being* level 75 - he honestly thinks getting to 75 in a day is a good thing?

The journey to 75 and everything it entailed is what made XI the game it was. I say "was" because it's no longer that game, thanks to Abyssea turning it into a power-leveler's wet dream.

It's my opinion, but I believe it very firmly that if you believe the whole point of playing XI (before Abyssea) was "to get to level cap", you missed the whole point of playing it.

If you thought it was more important to level as quickly as possible than it was to take in and experience the content along the way, you missed the whole point of playing it.

I say that of all players, not only those in this video.

FFXI very much was a game about the Journey. Not the destination.

In every single case I've seen, those who played it for the adventure, the journey and the experience, have great memories of the game and no regrets of playing it. Those who cared only about getting to level cap and thought it was all about the end-game, tend to walk away bitter about the experience. I've seen that trend in pretty much 100% of the cases I've encountered. I'm not sure it's not coincidence.
