I heard you have to manually pay each month and you cant use Visa? If thats the case, I'm not resubbing...

There's a new billing cycle? Hell I remember buying this a few months back, and it wouldn't accept my Visa or (2) Mastercards. So I ended up giving up on even trying to set it all up.

I dont know if its happening but tons of posts on Zam are talking about you have to manually buy Crysta each month through paypal.

Comparied to that, Visa is far from the devil.

You can have it setup through a thing called clickandbuy, but my bank for instance has barred any usage of that, as they feel it is a scam.  I tried to reason with them on it, but alas, to no avail.  So for me, I'd have to do the crysta thing, just to be able to play.  It is a hassle if you ask me.  I don't get why they can't just setup a billing system like every other gaming company in existance, and take normal credit cards like a normal company.  I know they are from Japan, but it can't be that hard.

So basically Sqquare is telling us to piss off. This game is so dead and is not worth a dime.

Yeah but I hope the recurring credi card one is not some 3rd party thing like Clickandbuy. Was happy they were changing it o I get my full month without having to pay at start of the month but the options they currently have has me staying away. So as of now not playing I might play again after seeing exactly what kind of payment options they are going to add in the fall.

You can buy Ultimate Gamer cards and use them to buy Crysta for game time.  That should be a fairly simple process. Its what I plan on doing next time around.  You can find these cards in Walmart, Target, Gamestop etc, so its no more complicated than buying game time cards except for one extra small step (exchanging the crysta for gametime).

When I played FFXI some time ago may be 2003 I think was it when it first launched in the US I could use my credit card. Why did they remove that option. I was living in Brazil then. Had no difficulty at all. Recently when I looked into the payment options this crysta and paypal seemed to be the only way to pay if you live in places where you cannot get ultimate pay. What possessed them to change from credit card monthly recurring charge to this nutso sytem.

While I haven't read anything that says why I can venture a guess.  Perhaps they feel its in the best interest of the consumer to not have a credit card tied to their account info in the event that their security is breached?

I just subbed... had to use clickandbuy... It really peeved me off, but you have to do that or buy crysta to buy a content ID to have a character...
