So I am mix between buying this game and LoTR and play awhile until AION comes out but I don't know what to choose. LoTR looks like I have to watch the media coverage before playing the game to get a sense of understanding. While even when i was like 10 y/o I have loved all of the final fantasy games. With all of the expansions my quick questions are:

1) Are all of the classes being balanced out? (If I were to buy the game, I was thinking of making a THF but I saw some footage of Blue Mage [Which I still dont know what breed are they mix of] I was thinking of maybe making a Blue Mage.. but I love THFs).  Oh BTW are THFs or BluMage or Puppetmasters consider to be a good pvp class?

2) I know there have been a lot of controversy about the subscribe count about FFXI, I was wondering an estimation of how many active players are still left?

3) Which server is the most populated?

Yes. I don't do PvP, I hear BLU is good at it.

What controversy? It's 500k subscribers. It's on their census for last year.

Odin, but it's overpopulated. They are trying to get people out of there now. Most are pretty much even though.

So I bought the game, created a taru thf on fenrir server (started on Windurst)....um is it me when im lvling i see... no one. and in town i see maybe one or two peeps. Im a guy who loves to socialize with others and party up. If anyone can help me find a linkshell and reasons why Fenrir server is so.... lonely would be great! :)

It's not so much that's it's empty, it's more of that Windy is pretty big. If you went say in Windurst Woods, a lot of people hang out there. Anyway, believe me, you'll be seeing people at one point or another. I don't see any need to worry about that.
