Interview @ GamerGod
By Craig McGregor on Sep 10, 2004
GamerGod has recently conducted an interview with Radu Privantu - the Project Leader and creator of Eternal Lands. Here is some of what was said:
GamerGod: There are currently 9 areas to skill up in? As far as skill types available, what is planned for release?
R. Privantu: We plan to add a ranged weapons skill, and later on we might also add various other skills such as chemistry (where you can create various materials out of oil, such as plastic, PVC, etc.) But adding new skills will take a while, we are focusing on other aspects right now (adding modifiable maps, skeletal animations, better shadows, auto update, etc.).
GamerGod: How large is the game world? If I were to walk from one side of the game world to the other, how long would it take me? Will there be any faster modes of transportation?
R. Privantu: Our game is split in maps, so it is hard to tell how much there is to walk. I would estimate that it's about 2 square kilometers. To walk from one end to another it takes about 15 minutes, I guess (unless you take a ship, in which case it's much faster). But there are also inside maps, caves, dungeons, etc. And we often add new maps to the game, so the size is constantly growing.
