Eternal lands is a stunningly brilliant game whit a huge world to explore, but this is one problem the graphics the resolution is very pore it could some times be compared to runescape actually that would be pretty hard. but if you are in a pisishion where you want not just a killing game join EL because there’s a lot to do such as alchemy, mineing, crafting, harvesting,  and my favorite magic

Well about El...i played it and its a pretty good game...but u cannot really judge it yet in my opinion for its not finished...or at least i hope its not, it is very low on variety, not finished...only a few armor types and from what ive found in game there should b a ranging skill...i found a shop in the second continent that had ranging gear set up...possible archery shop. But ya overall good game friendly community...i say check it out!

Apparently its too hard for el to make a range skill the whole game so far has been based on close up action and I mean I still live the game it fun as hell.

 

Play archlord its better then this and it has gone free to play recently.

It looks like Runescape back in the days when only 100 - 200 players were online. It's the same deserted world, suffering badly from lack of content. Indeed you get the feeling that you're playing an unfinished game right away. The problem is, when games such as Runescape were released, there were not many games to choose from, but now...it's difficutl to create a competitive game when juggling with outdated graphics. This is Runescape's downfall, is prolly is the major set back of this game too. The lack of good graphics should be compensated by a lot of substance, something that sadly this game doesn't have...and not many ppl are willing to sit back, relax and wait for that to happen. The only thing that saved Runescape was that hardcore fanbase, consisting of very dedicated players. They stood by Andrew and encouraged him all the way. Without such a dedicated crowd, this game will fall into oblivion. There too many flashier more modern games being released every year, and the gamers' fanbase also changed from players willing to spend years in a game to really impatient ppl that want "the goodies" right from the start or they'd move to a different game. So...

Ehh its not a bad game. But I agree with the person a few posts above, it really needs player made modifications to survive.

They should make a system where people publish them and the company chooses which one of them to implement say, every week.

*sighs* I don't know, its really lacking content as it is.. even with most of the beta being completed.

 runescape is shit compared to EL. Just look at the shadows and textures in EL. ARE THEY JUST BLOBS like on runescape? Look @ the water in EL. It reflects. Does runescape even utilize the Direct X feature....nope nope. People need to try this game first before comparing it to that "horrible game" Runescape. More respect to EL.

I know right? such a horrible game like runescape being the second most subscribed MMORPG and the most popular free game. I mean just look at those DX10 graphics EL is rolling out, its like cryengine 3 on steroids.

 

On a more serious note i agree the graphics are quite dated for 2009, im quite interested in the game but these grapphics are gonna be an immersion breaker for me.

The thing about that statement is that; yes there are flashier more beutiful games out there... That being said; alot of the flashier more beutiful games aren't creative or orginal. EL  is free and Open source and to be honest it's one of the better open source games out there. It does not lack in graphics; it lacks in playerbase. Which is unfortunate because so many people like the cover a of book as apposed to its contents.
