Smedley Enthuses over PlanetSide Sequel
In a post to his blog entitled, "What PlanetSide Means to Me," SOE President John Smedley gushes about the awesomeness of PlanetSide, though he also acknowledges some of the game's shortcomings. Smedley, as it turns out, is also quite excited over the upcoming PlanetSide sequel, shedding some light on the project.

PlanetSide Sequel in Development
While no official announcement has been made just yet, just about all signs point to the development of a sequel to PlanetSide. The rumors first started as a story broke over at PlanetSide Universe that SOE had been sending out survey e-mails to PlanetSide players seeking their input on the development of a PlanetSide sequel. Soon after, it was confirmed that the domain www.planetside2.com had been registered, and finally, a comment from SOE President John Smedley on the future of PlanetSide.

Remaining Servers to Merge
In an announcement made on the official PlanetSide forums, the Werner server will merge into the Gemini server, bringing the total number of servers down to one. This merger is scheduled to take place on August 25th, 2009.
