PlanetSide Overview and Recent Content
PlanetSide is a groundbreaking MMOFPS and one of the first truly popular games in that genre. Released by SOE in 2003, PlanetSide concerns three warring factions in a battle for supremacy over the terrain of a distant planet.
There are many weapons and also vehicles to utilize by each of the three sides, and both of these respawn for communal use by each player squad. RPG elements do exist in PlanetSide, though based upon points earned through PvP combat. The game still sees updates and events every few months and an expansion, PlanetSide: Core Combat was released in 2003..
