Wizardry Online Videos: First Impressions (18:24)

Ripper X takes a look at Wizardry Online, the new MMORPG featuring Permadeath PVP! Wizardry Online is a re-imagining of the classic RPG originally developed by Sir-Tech. I do appreciate the video, but didn't Pokket already do a "first impression" type video for this game already? I do have to say Ripper is more animated in his video than Pokket (sorry Pokket, still love you >.<).

Either way the game was still not worth the effort of anymore videos! It has such a slow cutscene feature and old graphics/gameplay that I only got about 40 min into the game before wanting to slice my wrists! If this game came out in 1990 it may have been thought of as a "good game", but there just is not a polish to the game that needs to be there in present day gaming.

Apart from the hitching and poor perfomance we hope improves at launch, the slooooowww cutscenes, seemly endless text from quest givers, and animatons make be think this game belongs in the time of the original Wizardry series. By the way, Wizardry VIII remains one of my fondest memories of a RPG. Sadly, Wizardry Online just doesn't do it for me.

Nonderyon writes: Good luck with the leveling, you have to hit the soul lvl 2(around character lvl 7 or 9, i dont remember well...) to kill another player(who is min. soul lvl 2). anyway,i dont have problems with graphic or sloooooow cutscene, but i cant tell it about that for combat, that just not work for me...i definetly play this game when they do something about the combat system, i mean useable one. <- my poor english, sorry about that :) Tue Dec 18 2012 6:30AM Report
