A new post on the Origins of Malu Steam page has been published that indicates that the team is 'slowly coming back to life'. In addition to this good news, the OoM roadmap has been revealed along with the big news that a mobile tie-in version of the game is being developed as a top-down, story-based action shooter. Independent teams are working on each version of Origins.
The Origins of Malu: Factions team has sent word that the early access release for the Battlegrounds segment of the game will be opening on March 20th. Once testing has been completed on abilities and skills as well as on network performance, the doors will slowly open for more and more users. Battlegrounds early access testing will begin at 10:00 am Pacific / 1:00 pm Eastern on Friday, March 20th.
Dying to check out Origins of Malu? Your chance is incoming as the team is ready to put servers online for a couple of hours on Saturday, February 7th. There are keys up for grabs and no NDA in place for the event. Developers are quick to point out that this is neither the MMO release build nor the final early access build that will roll out on Steam later this spring. According to the post on the Origins of Malu forum, early access should kick off very soon after this weekend's event.

The subscription amount has yet to be determined but, in an interesting twist, any F2P player purchasing something from the item mall will also be given a limited amount of subscription time as a bonus.
