jackocomp writes: Dark Orbit is another one of Bigpoint.com Browser Based games. it does not require any Download or Pre-Installation of a client & a new player can be registered & playing within just a few minutes. It is a 2D Space Based game that revolves around killing NPC's & collecting resources to build/upgrade things. However the NPC's A.I. is not very good & they tend to do very little apart from all gathering around & blindly attacking until killed. New users usually have a reasonably easy time learning the game as there isn't much to do & learn. All in all Dark Orbit is a very repetitive game that is so close to being the same as other Bigpoint games it isn't funny. It is FREE to play but being a FREE player just makes you a constant EASY target for PAYING players to kill. (The differences between the stuff that is available for FREE players to the items players can use money to buy is HUGE. It is very much an WHOM ever spends the most money on the game will be the strongest) There are safer areas/Maps within the game but these systems are only good at low-level & after a set level the character will only gain 50% of everything & anything he finds/kills in those systems. Traveling outside those systems opens a character up to be attacked by players from one of the other 2 factions if/when they come across them. The whole universe in Dark Orbit isn't very big so PVP is ALWAYS happening close to the home systems (Safer Systems). PVP however is very hard for FREE players as mentioned above & when you combine that with a number of players breaking the rules it doesn't often make for good anything. I personally wouldn't recommend anyone play this game unless you are willing & able to spend money on it, but as it is FREE (yeah right) & requires no download people should give it a go to judge for themselves as it may just be the Time-Zone I live & play in.
