DarkOrbit is a free-to-play 2D browser sci-fi MMORTS currently with over 65 million registered users. Players begin by choosing to join with one of three companies, then being set loose into the galaxy to earn fame, fortune, and power for themselves and their chosen company. Players have a variety of ships to choose from, along with a healthy number of weapons, ammo types, and ship defenses. Players may also produce and refine ores to sell or to add extra power to ship weapons. PvP battles are the main focus, with special in game events that reward credits, experience, honor, and other in game items.
