Other than him writing one of the worst scripts of all time in Charlies Angels. I found what he said interesting. |

The story of diablo 3 is worse than the worst video game ive played so far. 12 years they have been developing bullshit. They should have given the ip to blizzard north and be done with it once and for all. They dont have the potential nor the imagination nor the feeling to create a diablo game.Their best crap game was warcraft 3 with cartoon graphics they continued with wow cartoon graphics as well. They ruined starcraft 2 with cartoon graphics kidy shit voiceovers and now they unleashed their final blow with Kidablo,,,,no wait we have pandas on the road..hahha. It's so freaking funny seeing this company how badly shapes after all these years. I remember blizzardfrom lost vikings and blackthorne. I said wow when i played Diablo 1,i said nice when i played diablo 2 and i said omg wtf when i saw diablo 3. We should have been expecting this since blizz North has been long gone. Currently there is no magic elixir for diablo 3.Graphics are crap atmosphere is crap and many many other things are crap that if i keep mentioning we will finish tomorrow. But wait there is a solution.DELETE the whole crap you have been smoking all these years give the ip to blizzard North and let players hope for a diablo 3 remake. Diablo was not supposed for kid graphics nor sth in between.Diablo had grate lore not something travesti bullshit. I now know that i will never play diablo again and i dont hope for a game liek that to ever come again. Maybe fans do sth after years but years have passed and noone wants to wait. Ps:Not only lore but everything in this game sucks.Armors are worse than any 2d game rpg i ve played. |

I really liked that movie Big Fish.
The D3 story could have been better. There were some pretty good parts tho.
I wonder if any other games have "weak" stories and why he didn't publicly comment on them? Do hack-n-slash games usually have great stories? How was Torchlight's story? Is it possible that, compared to other games in the hack-n-slash genre Diablo 3's story is by far the best, but compared to ALL games it's considered "weak"? |

Originally posted by Psychow Torchlight has an OK story. It's less predictable and more character-centric than the one in Diablo 3. Although, considering that TL is T-rated, it should be the other way around. Darksiders and God of War are examples of hack and slash games. They both have awesome stories with a lot of M-rated content in them. Error: 37. Signature not found. Please connect to my server for signature access. |

Diablo 3 has a much better story than Torchlight. Not even close. I did like the God of War story, but never played Darksiders. I should maybe pick that game up sometime.
It's a moot point though. According to some, Diablo 3 doesn't have a single redeeming thing going for it. So why even bother discussing it. I'll still play it, and enjoy it. |

There are haters yes, but for the love of God is the story bad! It's horrible! I swear I could come up with something better in a weekend! I'm not gloating! I suck at writing, but FFS when I played Diablo 3 the story was the last thing I thought was making an impression among gamers. Now after I've played the game from beginning to end a few times and then began farming inferno, the story is rather irrevelavent - but it still just blows giant creamy mozza balls. I'd rather stick a seering hot rod of molten iron into my anus while blowing a tuna fish sandwich than have this story exist.
Ah crap I got things to do... |

Concerning Zefire and chronosnacl\ks, well by all means hop to it! go ahead and team up and write and make a much better game than Diablo 3! Your time and energy would be much better spent doing that than ranting. We'll be waiting....... Order of the Silver Dragons |

I never really pay attention to the story in most video games ever since I started playing more multiplayer games where the emphasis was on competition and gameplay. But I will say that a Hollywood writer, especially one that wrote the scripts for the Charlie Angels movies really has no place to critize a VIDEO GAME story where it is suppose to be over the top and beyond fictional. |

If you see no good or you see no bad in a game, chances are you are bias. |

Diablo 3 didn't need to focus on story, it could of been left on the back burner and kept as minimal as possible.
Instead, they made the game so much about the story that its poor writing stuck out so much. If they didn't make it such an intricate part of the journey, it really would of been far better. You don't need to have good story for a good game, and doing it so poorly only takes a game that can be considered decent and makes it look bad. |

I haven't played it but let me guess. An ancient evil awakens. |

Originally posted by Psychow I disagree. See, the reason I say this isn't because torchlight story is good, but because it doesn't force it on the user. Diablo 3 constantly reminds us of it and nags it in our faces. We don't NEED to have a story for that type of game, so there is no need to have it shoved down your throats. If your not focusing on a 'good' story, there really is no reason you need to put huge emphasis on it. Diablo 1 and 2 both had downplayed the story enough to hide the fact it wasn't all that amazing, having done in just the right way your interested in it without realizing the flaws to it. These types of games function best minimalizing the story and Diablo 3 flaunts it in our face and smacks us across the face to recognize it.

Why would anyone play a Diablo game for the story? If you're hungry for a story-driven RPG, go play a BioWare game. I only read the summary, but this guy would probably hate a lot of video games given some of what he said. |

Originally posted by Johnie-Marz Yeah, but he wrote the Big Fish. I love that movie. In any case, it's hard to say with Diablo 3 as I never really thought any of the Diablo games were about compelling story. They were pretty cut and dried.

Originally posted by SuperXero89 Diablo 2 had a decent story though. It was told through skip-able cutscenes, but it was of high quality IMO. Diablo 1 had a good story, too, but it was kind of in the background. Error: 37. Signature not found. Please connect to my server for signature access. |
