Maybe they just exagerate the cost to safe them on company taxes later? Eg. SWTOR content and their 200 million budget does not compute for me to be realistic. Pardon my English as it is not my 1st language :) |

Originally posted by jdnewell Yes It's speculations, but do you see any numbers in my post, I use the term HUGE etc..THats a sign of speculations , and this post is discussing these speculations.. Without any doubt the development cost for Diablo is higher than many games out there, the Mid act films and the high quality voice overs are bound to make this game a high bill..What I'm refering to is the meat and butter of the true game, the actual campaign is rather short, and that is what they have been working on all these years.. Now I know the actual replayability and such is very high and popular among Diablo fans due to the diffrent difficulty levels etc, but did these levels give any extra devlopment time to create ? I do not think so, not by much (A guess) , since there are but a few enimies that act diffrently.. So In conclusion ; to me atleast ..I would have prefered a larger ACTUAL gameworld for those 60 Euros i paid.

Historically, long development times do not help a game at all because it usually means they have to restart the project somewhere in between. Blizzard in particular scrapped half its systems closer to launch... I'm with another poster here, though. I don't care how long something was developed or how much money they had. I don't believe in that. I only believe in talent and passion of the developers. I like the game as it came out and I'm not gonna hope it was something it is not. |

Conditioning your worker-bees and make them buy your decent game millions of times (over 6 million already and growing fast) while praising it as the second coming ignoring massive flaws like lack of weapon animations does cost a lot of money and time i bet...... On a more serious note ...the exact costs and time invested is something we cant know. But why should they have hurried up more WOW was going strong why release the game when all the bees are happy? WOW started bleeding so now was the perfect time to release it(without dropping Subs i doubt we would play D3 already) and with the RMAH they made sure to still have monthly income from the game so the Bleeding in WOW doesn't hurt as much and they can take it easy and invest time into Titan which will be a shiny new Beehive for there drones for years to come you gotta have to hand it to Blizzard they sure do know what they are doing. Now don't get me wrong D3 isn't a bad game i would give it an 80/100 (even tho after playing Dungeon Siege 3 the combat of D3 feels like a step or 2 back again) |

You paid 60 euros I paid a lot less. 27 pounds for this game is nothing. Also it hasnt been in development for more than 4-5 years.

Probably took them a long time to make all of those useless items that drop. And nightmare mode, which is useless in itself. |
