I have yet to find anything buggy about the actual game.

Now the battlenet servers on the other hand...different story of course.

I was partly referring to the server issues yeah. But there are plenty of bugs such as being able to wield 3 weapons at a time if you manipulate your items in a certain way, AH eating people's items and money etc.

1) online SP game is GOOD. No cheating. I support it 100%.

2) Hmm ... not more repetition than MMO end games. Plus, the dungeons/ areas are random, and if i am having fun fighting DIFFERENT random groups, i really don't care about repeating quests.

Have you played anything from Bethesda? Granted, I've not set foot in D3 yet, but I've not been hearing much about bugs.

So far no bugs for me, except server disconnects.

No.

D3 isnt an mmo

Plus, while 6.3M is impressive, it is not 10M yet (although it will get there soon).

It is not a MMO, but it is an MMO kind of game. How about WOW guilds are moving (or taking a break) from WOW to D3?

Why would you care if someone cheats in their single player game?

Maybe because it's not ONLY single player?

Come on people, it's called a brain, use it!

Great.

Not really good news for gaming in general. Shows rehashing, spending 9 years to make a hack n' slash game is acceptable. Blizzard is lucky their fans are so loyal. For a game that took this long to make (a single player, 2D hack n' slash game at that) it didn't really impress me..and I grew up playing D1 which then transitioned into UO so I'm a sucker for 2D.

If ANY other game/company had the issues they were having they would be slaughtered in public. Good thing they have a lot of weight to throw around.

Very impressive numbers. I have to congratulate their marketing department. Blizzard should thank the games press too. I find it very interesting how this evolved.

Well Diablo games have always been fun to play and half the world did wait 12yrs for this to release so it makes sense that it has huge sales.

I wonder what kind of person the average buyer is.

I mean Call of Duty has these kind of numbers (cross platform) and I imagine the average COD buyer to be a 18 year old with a cap worn backwards. Who doesn't really keep up with gaming news and reviews and such. And is an idiot.

I never claimed it was.  However, I think it's irrelevent whether or not it's an MMO - it's competing in the same item-treadmill design, it's got a huge overlap in the player base and it changes consumer expectations.  I think it's a fair question whether a significant number of MMO players, now that they've tasted an action/item game and dynamic spawns are going be able to go back and look at WoW's static design with the same enthusiasm.

Good point. In fact, we know for sure that there is at least a 1.2M player overlap (that is the number of WOW annual pass players). ALL of my WOW guild is playing D3.

In fact, what this will do .. is more MMO will move to be more like Diablo 3 .. and some MMO development may be modified to make a online RPG instead.

If there is a chance that he or she may bring his single player character to multiplayer, then YES.

That's th eissue many have with the way it was setup. D2 had 3 versions, Single player (offline, not able to play characters from SP online), non-battle.net (tended to be full of cheaters and stuff), and the battle.net servers.

I could understand them dropping the non-battle.net stuff, but nobody can really give any valid reason for why they had to completely remove th eability to play single player offline. If people want to play single playe ronline, you were able to do that in D2 by just making a private room. But now there is no option to play while not connected to the net, or while theyhave their retardedly long weekly maintenance.

The logic is quite simple. People are attached to their character. People do NOT want separate SP and MP characters. Thus, if you have to allow SP characters into MP games, you have to worry about cheating. Online -> kill cheating. Pretty logical to me.
