This is something that really has to be asked. Diablo is legendary game franchise. Probably one of most popular ones on PC. Even if the game is not more that decent, diablo 3 would be bought by millions of people. Blizzard is brimming with money and talent. And I dont doubt huge budgets were invested in this one... What can go wrong after all ?
I think unbelivable has happened. Blizzard is about to release their first bad game ( i am not counting WOW expansions) What happened ? Did all the talents leave Blizzard ? Its really hard to answer this one...

Simple answer is yes. "Loading screens" are not "instances". |

Certainly seems so. Though arguably Vivendi are to blame (for screwing over Blizz North) rather than Activision. I guess it could have been worse we could have ended up with EA Blizzard. |

I think it largely depends on how many millions buy the game.
If 3 million, no. If a mere 1 million, then maybe. If 3 million+, you are completely horrible for asking the question. SWTOR is the greatest mmo ever! |

Originally posted by Nadia of course it will sell well, a turd that says blizzard on it would sell well. if they put a pet turd on their store for 25 dollars people would lap it up. |

The problem is the problem with all acquisitions. Its no longer Blizzard. Haven't they really only released one game under Acitvision Blizzard? Starcraft 2? And by my understanding a lot of complaints about that was it was the exact same game as Starcraft. Mythic, Blizzard, BioWare were all bought out, and their games released afterwards lacked creativity. Its not a coincidence they were all bought out by enormous corporations. Pretty much, the McDonaldization of the industry(sell tons of crap for cheap). |

You have to remember that Blizzard Irvine never worked on a Diablo game before. They were only the publishers for Blizzard North on this project. This is a new team that worked on WoW previously. They know about WoW games but haven't the slightest what it means to bring out the best in a Diablo game I'm afraid. Still it is a decent game with probably a good story. |

Aren't most of the original Blizzard devs elsewhere now anyways? |

These giant games developement companies put more money into marketing and viral advertising than they put into developing games. |

Originally posted by Lobotomist One of the major reasons I'm not bothering. I loved D2, I still go back and play it sometimes, but D3 looks tragic. The whole philosophy behind it seems so, as well. Fortunately there are enough people who seem to be enjoying it that there will be Let's Play videos on youtube soon enough. I'll stick to videos where I can just skip to the storyline bits. Originally posted by Alders Yes, pretty much all the oldschool core developers from early Blizzard have left the company long ago. So it should not come to a shocking suprise that D3 is so different and dissapointing for most, simply because the devs that designed and created D1 and D2 no longer work there. It's the same with SOE and why EverQuest 2 went so rapidly downhil the last couple years. They too lost pretty much all their core developers. |

Anyone with a brain knows any review of a Blizzard product on this website by forum users is frankly not worth the time it too the OP to write it. The hate here for them is like the stench from a garbage dump. The game will do great as all Blizzard products do and the small percentage of people that bad mouth all things not GW2 on this site will still seethe and roll about the problem that is Blizzard. They could make a perfect game and till the haters will have to hate. It is now their nature. Frankly the best endorsement that this site can give to Blizzard is to hate on it. Makes people want to see what they are talking about and as usual 70% of those will probably like the game. |

No, developers haven't lost their touch... gamers have turned into spoiled little brats. |

^^^^^ I don't think it's that developers have lost there touch. I mean what a month ago it was Mass Effect 3 now Diablo 3 it's just people expect way to much that's the problem I don't know when gamers became so entitled....
If all these people think they can do better then they should go get a gaming degree and make something happen.... |

No, the realities of market has changed. Old school gamers aren't the primary group anymore and games are aimed for more casual players.
Diablo 3 is polished product, it just has different more broader audience than before. |
