Funny. It is so weird that people are falling for scams so easily, and not just game companies...but like banking and more important stuff. Every single company says: "We will never ask you for your password or personal information"...but people still fall for it.

O i did not reply or go to this site. Trust me been dealing with this kind of garbage for years now, and the funny thing is that the email they sent it to is not even my battle.net email adress. lol

Scammers have been sending them for years, my mail account have nothing to do at all with anything Blizzard and I still get those, fake mails saying that they are from my ISP that want my mail password and Viagra spamms.

I think I stupidly were on a forum and actually clicked in "show my E.mail" by misstake, have gotten them since and my spamm filter only gets 2/3rds.

My spam folder typically has had 4-5 fake Blizzard emails per week for the past few years.

I also received the same mails but I did not click the link. thank god I'm with my friends that time.

what gets me is this is almost as bad as the real email i got from Blizzard recently "come play our messed up game for 14 days for free!" yeah right, you'd have to become f2p permanently for me to return to that world Blizz AND get rid of that idiot Ghostcrawler so he couldn't ruin anything else.

That is why Blizzard does "opt-ins" for Betas. I haven't opted in for any of their betas but I still get all the phishing attempts for them. Of course if you opted in then you probably get excited every time you open your email and see you got into beta... oh wait

This one's pretty pathetic, but some of them are pretty sophisticated.  Sometimes the only way I'd know is by looking at the actual link destination before clicking.

Social engineering.

There are lot of ways to manipulate perception and play on people's fears and emotions to gain trust or to otherwise do things that in hindsight are very stupid or risky.

Yes, a lot of the people that fall for the phishing e-mails could be more perceptive, but sometimes the con-artists are just extremely good at presenting a very convincing scam.

I think many players were been victim of these kind of scam

I get around 10 of those each day...

To stop the scamming with those mails from suppose-to-be gaming comanies or banks they should lock .game or .bank domain names for authorized companies only

I like that idea.

Something has to be done. Scammers shouldn't get away with this. Personally I'm all for a cyber crime force that works based on terms of acceptable internet jurisdiction.

I got this email. This is one of the shoddier attempts to get my information. Besides, asking for information that Blizzard doesn't ask for. The fake email address was another give away. Plus, I know I'm not lucky enough to actually get a beta invie. LOL

I got one of these as well, but I sent a reply.

I got also some automatical link to, some refused recipient to some other email adress, it seems that also keylogger are build in this email.

Pls be carefull, don't open the email, just delete it.

If you don't know if the emai come from blizzard for real (any other suspicious email)I would advice to create a new email account, on any free email, just for battlenet. Don't disclose it to any other service than battlenet.

This email would be only for battlenet,  therefore you will know when an email coming from blizzard to any other email than the one you created specialy for battlenet is fake.

No opening, just delete it.

To be fair, the companies SAY that, but their actual policies vary. When you change your battlenet password, Blizzard sends you an email with a link. You have to click on that link to enter your new password.

There are a few players on 64 bits internet browser having major problem with submit a support ticket in customer support on an 6 years old issue that Blizzard did not fix a very very simple thing with Java noscripted thing

The reason why is pretty simple, Blizzard don't want to pay for it...
