The animations here look plain awful.... Plus, does this game actually take anything from D&D past spell names etc?

xenorace writes: I guess I was thinking control that it was going to be like mind control for some reason. After watching the video it's obviously elemental control. Wed Oct 31 2012 9:42AM Report
bezado writes: I hate the movement animations and the cast animations as well. This is 2012, you think a developer would somehow give multiple different animations per spell cast rather than the same. Plus why does a game like Asheron's Call and some other older ones have better animations? I guess wizards should have casting devices and not just a dumb oppaque globe like this video shows, we need staffs and wands that are held and offer stats like normal gear. achesoma writes: I liked the spell cast animations.  Not overly flashy and I like combat stance the wizard takes instead of just standing upright.  For me, the staff and wand are overdone.  To each their own I guess.  Wed Oct 31 2012 1:51PM Report

Im sorry but this is again where MMO's fail to unique or grabby and just aim for boring underthought characters and classes.

Im sorry wait...did you say, "Control Wizard"?

Did any of the devs say to themselves even one time "I cant wait to get home and jump on my level 45 CONTROL WIZARD today!"

Im sorry but from not only a lore standpoint is this a super lame class name, but on top of it all it just doesnt roll off the tongue. Its awkward sounding and very fake, it doesnt sound like an RPG class as it sounds like a desription of an RPG class. Seriously who is running these MMO companies now? Because they are defiently not fans of the genre with imagination for days, you know, the people who SHOULD be making MMORPG's.

All this class says to me is "Were on a deadline so we just used the first name someone threw out". No one will remember there "Control Wizard" from neverwinter online, No one. And im being serious, because its just not an imaginative or memorable name, its just rediculous.

4th Edition DND wizards are considered a Controller Class, and one of their weapon options are is an Orb. Each weapon offeres different bonuses when they channel their spellls if I remember correctly. Its been awhile since I looked over it.

Neverwinter is being based off of 4th edition. Which for me was actually an edition that was likea  breath of fresh air. i was so sick of the powercreep in 3.5

Neo_Liberty writes: The animations are fine.. the class name is fine... afterall its just a name of the class.. what does that have to do with anything... it doesn't determine how the class plays or looks... its a "name" Wed Dec 19 2012 7:27PM Report
