WildStar Videos: The Pros and Cons of Life in Nexus - TheHiveLeader (5:53)

The Hive Leader (http://www.youtube.com/thehiveleader) is back in action, this time with a look at the pros and cons of Carbine's WildStar Online, a brand new MMORPG. It's a humorous, but thoughtful look at what HiveLeader sees as the goods and bads of the game.

Why does everyone who narrates a video nowadays tries to talk as fast as possible?

However, i'm not going to play Wildstar but i really hope that the game manages to capture a huge playerbase with it's lore and setting.

Righteous_Rock writes: The one con is just overshadowed by everything else. The quest hubs i think they only get a bad rap here because WoW has quest hubs so since WoW has it, it's hated, when in reality the quest hubs garnish little to no attention in game other than to say, hey I've got something for you to do. I thought your video was great. Can't wait to dig in for good. Fri Feb 28 2014 2:43PM Report

I don't think the lack of voice acting is a problem. Thinking back to SWTOR I skipped a ton of the quest dialog anyways, and in that case it's sort of a waste of development money. Sure it kills a bit of the immersion when you really want to know everything, but there is some voice acting in Wildstar, sometimes you can follow a NPC around after you turn in a quest and there will be some optional dialog.

The big problem with question is the amount of quests you have at once and how unclear the UI is of telling you where and how to do them.

Killing 10 rats isn't that bad of a concept, I mean, it's basically what you do in games like Skyrim as well. However when you have 20x kill 10 rat styled quests, they're spread all over the place and you don't have a clue of where half of them are it becomes problematic.

It's mainly an UI problem and I bet it'll be fixed.

Combat is really great in Wildstar though, and for the first time in any MMO healing in PvP is actually just as fun as dealing damage.

Funny one again, I agree with the beginning, Montalbán over Sherlock, any day.

Though I still don't get your dislike towards quest text... reading is fun :) That's why I'd sort the very same elements like this:

Khan: only the dubstep, but since I always play with just music and environment sounds, I won't hear it anyways

Meh: Moobs, Pvp, Combat (the "who cares" parts)

Pro: all the others, especially Housing, Paths (settlers and explorer), and hoverboards.

(  sidenote, I've missed the live version of wednesday wednesday wednesday, thx for the Highlights of it: great lines, not so great teamwork - true, tip#4 was that "winning isn't everything". And while the video was well-edited, I'm fairly positive that you aimed in it! Shame on you, aiming is the first step to missing :)  )

Ummm only slightly better than a Ripper X video.

Pretty much PRO'd everything,i am surprised he did not pro the yellow marker quests as well,i guess would have come off as totally biased if 100%pro everything.

Has pvp there by giving it the thumbs up,doesn'tmatter if any good, just that it has it,well FFXI had pvp also, doesn't mean anything.

Carbine sort of stole FFXIV's combat, they say FFXIV combat is sort of ho hum,i agree but then how is it that Carbine's is better,i don't see it as that good either.

Every single thing in the game looks low budget but i do like the sound effects or as he says dub step sounds.

Realistically, just a ton of WS advertising going on now, doesn't give it any credibility on the QUALITY scale.I agree the game does tend to cover most areas, but imo still comes off looking Indie.

lugisimo writes: I like that there's no real KS. During a challenge, I would run up to mobs that are attacking another player, hit em once and run away, leaving the kill for the other player. It would count for the challenge and I still got drops. So don't get mad when another player helps u kill that mob. Challenges are timed and there's too many players around. Really not a good video for an informed or well thought out pro/con of Wildstar. Discussing the actual points made would have been far more valid rather than latching onto a minor aspect of a point and then saying it was awesome does not mean the part of the game itself is awesome.

Not a good video.
