Would be amazing if NCsoft nails this game.

You're hearing a lot of good feedback on WoW on THESE forums? Hahaha, no offense, but I want some of what you're smoking...

Everything depends on the timeframe and the place you're viewing something in, before launch you have the hype and the trolls, just after launch you have the ecstatic ones and the severely disappointed, some time after launch you have the people bitching about balance or using the example of the game for their own agenda.

In terms of place, lets be honest: mmorpg.com is good because it features a lot of games and often has some interesting info about them, but it's also a haven for eternally disgruntled whiners. Look at other forums and you see a different picture.

The only way to get a good idea about something is to compare a lot of different views. And of course there needs to be enough stuff out there to spark your interest. Then you just need to decide if a game will be worth the cost to try it yourself.

This site alone means nothing. The big picture is WoW having a ridiculously amount of players, streamers, views and positive and neutral  feedback in general. GW2 doesn't, even though you don't have to pay monthly people have lost interest way too fast,  not only on this site.. Doesn't make GW2 a bad game but you are damn sure I would try WoW before GW2.

Never played GW2 but I keep hearing negative feedback. Game looks gorgeous I'm guessing mechanics suck ass.

I really really hope Carbine learnt all the bad from GW2 and are doing a better job.

I was really hyped by GW2 and it is not that it disappointed... it actually accomplished everything it promised, but what I did not factor was that the PvE part was so utterly boring :( Also character advancement is really little. You will unlock all skills you want by level 40.. and then you are looking in the face of 40 levels in which you get just a new talent point a level. The talents are cool, but not enough incentive to keep playing :(

I fear the Devs went with a focus on PvP. To be honest I always hear the first GW was mainly a pvp game, so maybe hoping GW2 would have very decent PvE was too much, but I found it lacking. A shame too, because the game is gorgeous and I love the world, the races and everything around it. Many thing were really well done it just did not keep my interest long enough :/ Mostly I felt that the Dynamic events were nice, but would need something more meaty to complement them. The personal storyline was cool, but not enough to complement the events, that is one reason I have strong hopes for Wildstar as it will have both quest based gameplay, Dynamic events and Public quests, plus a more traditional looking character advancement (I hope! we still know little of that talent system!).

As this is actually a thread and forum about Wildstar, I'm going to abandon this discussion. But the last thing I will say is this: as someone who has (recently) personally played both WoW and GW2 for a significant time, I feel that both those games are successful with their target audience and both are (still) strong going games.

Both games have a really good population, so anyone making an argument that either of these games is failing has very little ground to stand on.

Finally, each of those games also have their distinct weaknesses, like any product out there.

Would be nice to see a first person perspective. So when zoomed all the way, you can see the hands, and weapons when in use. I think for situation with smog, and seeing only smog on the screen in 3rd person takes away from the adventure of jumping into something unknown ehen its just a veil, rather than being able to see better in certain platforming situations with smog.

The combat looks trite and boring, no thanks...

Thank you regardless for the footage.

I think it looks pretty good. At least it doesn't look like the spamfest that GW2 is. I am going to try not to get too hyped up for it.

Its 10 minutes of level 6 gameplay.

No MMO out there is interesting to watch someone else play at level 6.

You can say stuff like "same old, same old" or something with even less meaning like "it should be interesting at level 1" but I would rather have a good "WoW clone" than a bad original game.

I will most definitely be getting Wildstar despite level 6 gameplay not being very interesting.

You know what other games you can kill boars in a tired old fashion? LOTRO, literally half of the game is you killing boars. You'd thing there was a war going on or something. Boars, I just can't escape them in mmos.

Also, it's nice to know that developers are keeping the tradition of retarded looking swords alive, does the art crew look for the opinions of 8 year olds when designing swords? Seriously, they just keep getting dumber and dumber.

Some folks are like Slinkies, totally useless but great fun to watch when pushed down stairs

I was going to play this title but after watching this I do not think so.... That combat in the beginning is far too slow for me.  Even my lvl 1 human paladin didn't hit that slow.

I have to disagree DC universe online was amazing to play at level 6...

However after that it got boring rather fast not to mention you could not even level since high level characters were ganking you around each and ever corner.

I also am not foolish enough to try to judge this game after 6 levels.  Wlldstar still looks like it will be a must play MMO of 2013, even after this video.

You spread to an area, and you multiply, and you multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet.-Mr.Smith

I was wondering if I was the only one thinking that.

This is the type of comment that I respect.  Instead of fanboing it up trying to use any ridiculous statement imaginable in a fruitless attempt to convince us that the game is not a theme park clone - just straight up says yep, wow clone it may be but it looks like a high quality one and I want to play it.  Well done sir, you have a backbone and are not a lapdog.

Ya, this video does not do any justice. Do not assume too much either way.

Not saying I know anything, but that is all I am saying.

It increases exponentially over time.  if you were in the least bit interested in the game, then you would know that already.
