Perfect World Entertainment is working with Valve to bring a Super League, an eSports league, into existence in Mainland China. The official sites have opened up for players and teams to begin signing up. Teams will face off in a round robin tournament before heading to a double elimination round.

Reported on Aug 22, 2011Speaking to the folks at Eurogamer, Valve head honcho Gabe Newell has revealed that DOTA 2 will begin an invitation-only beta following the conclusion of the Gamescom tournament, and will move on from there towards a public beta. Newell also revealed that DOTA 2 will not make the widely believed 2011 release date, stating that he "doesn't think it will be shipped until next year."
