Anyone remembers that game? Was not really popular back in the days, but mechanic-wise 1:1 identical to Defiance. Just fyi.

Similar yeah.  The only issues TR had was no advertising.  I anyone had known about the game it might have done quite a bit better here in the states.  There are rumors it may come back though.

If you want a new idea, go read an old book.

would love to see it come back b/c it certainly had quite a few more options than Defiance currently does. although, Trion, for all its faults, is quite good about adding new game elements and content. but after a 100 person layoff im not sure they've got it in them to do with Defiance what they did with Rift.

i honestly feel bad for them. they are quite possibly the single most hardworking dev team/company in the business. constant updates, constant changes in systems to try and provide more interesting content. just never seemed to pan out for them. of course launching in the midst of the single largest economic downturn since the Great Depression didnt help matters im sure. still ... there are probably some lessons to be learned there, if only we knew the inside scoop on all that's occurred.

Way better even i think. In TR enemy NPC's would 'strategically' try to take over bases all over the maps. If they succeeded they would keep it until players took it back, or until they mounted a new attack on the next base. Somewhat like GW2 is doing, but as i remember it even better.

No its not..

Defiance actually has proper tps/fps style combat.. you shoto your gun and the bullet goes in that direction..

TR has tab targeting but instead of an auto attack you clicked your mosue buttin.. you could target an enemy turn away from him and fire you would see your bullet leave the gun and then turn towards your target.. it was lame..

Now I am not saying Defiance is a great game.. thats just not the case but its certainly better than TR was and more stable..

but each to their own...
