Defiance is a buy-to-play, multi-platform scifi MMO currently in development by Trion Worlds and, in a groundbreaking merger, the Syfy network, in a bid to bring the intense nature of the third-person shooter together with the "persistence, scale and customization" of an MMO. Defiance will unite the platforms across PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on April 2nd.
The Defiance site has been updated with the news that "Hulker Hell" has hit live servers. During the event, set to run through November 7th, players can take part in a number of seasonal activities that bring new weapons and mods that can be found in Hulker Hell Arkfalls and Sanguine Extraction Supply Crates.
A new developer post on the Defiance site informs players that the Exchange system has been removed from the game. Taking it out of the game came as a result of unforeseen and irreparable technical issues. The team has implemented a number of fixes in an attempt to resolve the problems, but to no good result.
Trion Worlds has updated Defiance with The Exchange that will allow players to buy and sell to one another. Players will need an Exchange Sell Slot to be able to access the ability to buy and sell.
As part of the third anniversary celebration for Defiance, Armistice Day has kicked off and will run through April 25th. During the event, players will be able to take part in several Arkfalls including Midsummer Mutiny, Hulker Hell, New Frontier Harvest, Solstice Strike and Colony Courtship.
Later today, Defiance will be updated with the Dark Metamorphosis update, a free content expansion for all players and one that will see a new zone, a great story-based quest line, new missions, new enemies and more. We had the chance to chat a bit with Trion's Carble Cheung and John Hegner about Dark Metamorphosis and the future of Defiance.
