Hi i just placed a factory and i don t know how 2 make it work so could some1 tell me how 2 make it work.

Firstly, welcome to the Crafting Profession.

Secondly, you will need a schematic of the item you wish to mass produce.

Thirdly, to make the schematic, you need a speciallized crafting tool (IE: weapon/general, structure, shipwright, etc..) You will also need to be standing next to a Crafting Station of the same type as the tool you are using.

Try to find +15.00 tools and +40 stations if you are outfiting a crafting room in your house.

Do NOT Pack your house to your datapad while you have the stations and tools in them, there is a bug out there that might kill them and turn them into a station or tool that will not allow expermintation.

When you finally make the schematic that you wish to mass produce, you have to make sure that the resources you put into the hopper of the Factory Match the ones Required on the schematic Exactly!

Also make sure that the factory you have is right for the item you wish to produce.  Some only do Foods, some only do weapons/armour, other only do structures and componets.

Reach out to a Master Structures player and tell them what you are looking to produce and they can set you up with the right type of factory if you don't already have some.

Some tips:

With Decay off, swoops  are a low end item for sales but a High end item for grinding out xp if you are an engineer.

If you are just trying to level in your specific crafting profession, you need to remember that factory runs DO NOT give you xp.  You have to do it all by hand to get xp.

the best items to craft these days are Shipwright parts, as most of the people are playing in space these days and since decay from damage still occurs.

Food and Clothing Items are low end items that no longer command the respectable prices that they once did, since you can no longer stack 2 drinks and 2 foods plus all the other stat enhancers.

With Cities on most Planets Cap'd for growth, certain civic structures are no longer going for premimum prices.

Guild Halls, City Halls, Garages, Banks, Medical Centers, Cantinas and Cloning facilities have dropped in price since the NGE.

Player Houses like the Tatooine, Corellian, Naboo  and Generic houses (small, medium & large) are still selling, but not for as much as they used to. On Intrepid, a Large Corellian/Naboo used to go for 200k pre-NGE, now they are around 100k if that.

If you are giong into the armoursmithing business, you will want to get a few factories.  You will also want to get your spare alt on that server up and running, as you will need the lots to place enough harvesters for the minerals and liquids you will need for all the items you will need to craft for a suit of armour.

I suggest that your second toon on your primary server with your crafter be a combat toon of some style of another, that way when your just doing a factory run, or your crafted out for the day; you can go off and run a quest or mission and pull in some credits to help support your crafter in the minerals and liquids or components you need to buy.

Crafting is fun.  Even with all the nerfs that SOE has thrown at the professions, it can be very rewarding.

Crafting that first Adv Laser Carbine or Launcher Pistol

Making your First X or A-Wing
