Tonight at midnight im outta here for good! You may not know me I started playing my first account on 1/15/04 and was an active player until a week before CU came.
I just wanted to tell all of you that word on the emu scene is that the SWG PRE-CU emulator is 70% done and will be ready around july for us all to check out. This just got me banned, But you made the vets and the average player very pissed SOE
So the these guys making the EMU are really hoping to take us all back! I hope they do it.
You can't give us roll back we take back are game SOE cocknockers.
Later guys see you all on DnL!

Knowing that cretinous moron Garva, he probably banned the poster for putting pre-cu. He gave me a 2 week suspension for posting a joke Patch Update on the NGE discussion forum. Virrago loved it, Brenlo loved it, they all laughed, except Garva gave me a wtfpwn for it. Mind you he doesn't like me because he sent me a crappy pm a month before hand about something and I took great pleasure in sending his note back to him as it should have been. I.E. professionally written in a neutral tone, with correct spelling and grammar. And not Garva's usual Uber1337kiddie style of writing that does nothing but murder the Queens English. |

there is alway buzz about a roll back. personally i think it makes sense for some one to make a starwars game for mature players...which is what a pre cu was. any other context i would say "who cares, just find another game that suits you".. the thing with starwars is that it's a cultural phenom and in my opinion the exception. there's nothing wrong with having two mmorpg based on starwars, and i believe a more complex virtual world based on starwars (similar to what the pre cu was) will draw the mature players in droves. you have to look at the age of the starwars crowd. those players born in the early 70's who love starwars are now mature, but understand the starwars magic like no other. they want a mature complex game, not a easy fps mess like the nge. the fact that the current version of swg is failing is a bit disgraceful. how can you fail with starwars as your theme?? the answer must be that the game is just that bad. that being said more power to swg and sony if they can get it running with enthusiastic players. personally i would be a bit worried about getting involved in 6 moths of grinding only to find that swg decides to change the game again. however why shouldn't someone els pick up this game for mature players, make something inovative and draw in the mature player by the thousands. surely if man can accomplish what we have in the past 100 years, someone can design the game that thousands are ready to buy at the drop of a hat!! although it might be a good idea to give the contract to someone other than sony....i hear they're contract is up anyway. |

Actually although the Star Wars name does guarantee success generally there are the exceptions to the rule. Star Wars Force Commander was a flop, and some of the other games titles did not do as well as Lucas Arts would have liked. But then they probably have their success marks set higher than the average game creators. SWG was most definately a success when it came out and had a steady 300k subscribers. Its SOE that failed to maintain the customers by their constant changes, hundreds of bugs, and the fact that they didn't capitalise on the name or the success that they did have, unlike Blizzard who now have over 4 million subscribers to WoW. SOE should have done what WoW did. Stick to their own game, innovate instead of emulate, and advertise constantly. Then we'd still be looking at a pre-cu SWG, with a subscriber base of at least 1 million + |
