Crafter = Weaponsmith / armorsmith   (but LOTS of work)

Fighter = any fighter template that is able to defeat high end NPCs to loot the expensive loot drops.

Have fun

Master pilot in any of the trees. You can make millions in just a few hours. Literally. Run the missions at the space stations. Its killing waves of fighters and sometimes MP Ships over and over. You will get money for the missions and for the parts you sell.

But empty your backpack and main inventory before you do them. The dantooine one and yavin one I would fill both my inventories in 2 to 3 runs.

Only problem is its boring as all get out after the first run or two. I turned it into my own little minigame by trying to see how many ships I could kill when each wave would first spawn, before they flew past me. My personal record is 5.

And if your a master smuggler and high rank you can make even more if you are factioned. Run the factional missions from the space stations as well. Not as much money but the faction is great. The Imperial one that you get on Naboo but go to Lok for you get, I think, close to 7.5kk for 30 minutes work. I dont know what the rate is now but at the time I would do it, the rate was 100 to 1. So that is 750k credits right there. And the actual mission money was around 150k. Parts money was about 70k. So your looking at almost a million credits for 30 minutes of flying.

Only downside to it is you gotta do it overt. But I have never been attacked while running that mission. Or any mission. Heck I have never been attacked running overt anywhere. And I was always overt. I would like to say since I was an Imperial that meant the rebels were cowards but I was the only Imp running overt. So the Imps werent exactly Jackie Chan either.

I have to agree with Erillion, if you want you can master weaponsmith or armorsmith, master smuggler and still have enough skill points for 1 tree of merchant. So now you can craft your stuff and slice it and put it on you vendor without having to worry about finding a smuggler to slice it for you, though many people might want to slice it themselves, that is their choice so that is just a brain child I thought of on my way home from work one day.

Thanks

If you're going for a fighter class then go bounty hunter. For NPC missions i get 17k per mission and i'm a lvl 36. If you get MBH then you can make around 60-70k for an npc mission, plus selling the loot. Also you can get jedi missions which for a full template will land you 226k for a kill.

It all depends upon your playing style. I think that most professions can make alot of money you just have to know how. I used to be a master fencer and i made money by collecting resources for a bio engineer.

Just have fun.

I was a Master Ranger for a while.  Made booty-loads of cash going on extended hunts for other players, crafters usually.  Got myself several regular clients with a flat per stack fee.  It wasn't the fastest way to make oodles of cash, but I had a fun time doing it.

Not getting attacked may change now that JTL is a free download.  Maybe more people will try space.

crafting proffesions to make the most money are weaponsmith and armorsmith, with cheff right behind those,,, however cheff wil likely be the new proffession for money if the game stays alive

see weapons and armor used to be consumables with decay from death and power shots, this has been removed, along with weapon enhancements, so everyone has the same weapon that never decays or becomes broken.

so you need a proffession that a product in game will become used, and therefore need to be replaced, chef is about the only consumable product there is now, and organic resources prove it hard for chef's to survive , since players can no longer select the organics, meat, hide, and bone , from creatures that chef need,, these resources are now loots, and random so killing a creature that has that resouce is not a gaurantee that it will drop, all SWG crafting proffessions require alot of resources for a crafter to mass produce to stay with demand, thus making it hard on a crafter to survive..

------------------

a combat proffession running missions from a terminal will prove most in quick financial gain, and thus far more fun to play ( opinion froma devoted crafter of 3 accounts Master of armorsmith/tailor/weaponsmith/artisan/bio-engineer{removed from game entirely}/medic,

-----------------

most armorsmiths and weaponsmiths are even finding hard to even give awayt weapons and armor, they dont decay so once you get one at a maxed level ,,, you have no need to replace, so you dont need another,,, and most combatants resell weapons or give them away to other players so no need to find someone to make you one if you are given one...

good luck ,,, read further below i would not waste my time on this mmorpg, alot are fleeing like a sinking ship, and most new players and meeting with resistance from elder players about help,,, and enthusiasm, it is a FPS with mmorpg rules, that make the game a poor playing feild

well here is a bit of unforyunate news,,, and i am a 2.5 year veteran who has done the crafting trees,, and i have went through over 3 major re-vamps of SWG...

bottom line the game is dying..

yes there still maybe heavy populated servers, currently i am on the bria server, but those are account created not actively playing accounts, many reasons for this \, the primary being that sony offers a station pass, which mean you can have access to play multiple mmorpgs made by sony for a single fee, rather then subscribe seperately for each game you play by SOE....

this mask the true number of regualrlt playing people vs. the actually number of accounts,,, and accross all servers the population is about 200-250k ,, that may seem big but compare to WoW with over 1-1.5 million subscribes,,, and EQ2 over 2 million ,,, that is a small number considering the pre- combat upgrade was approx 750,000 for SWG.....

SOE is slowly bleeding the game to death and with the new intervention of Lucas Arts, it only compromises the game demise....
