I think that becoming free to play would be the best thing for SWG to do to counter the lose in numbers its going to have at TOR release. What do you think? In My World It's Kill Or Be Killed |

I wouldn't bet on it. SOE just isn't known for trying to breathe life into their faltering games. EQ2 seems to be the only one they have love for, these days. |

Well who knows we might get lucky. It would be awsome if it came out free. In My World It's Kill Or Be Killed |

Fanatics are picturesque, mankind would rather see gestures than listen to reason. |

Sony would have to switch it to we-pay-you-to-play. I'd go back to SWG if they sent me $15 every month. |

I'd side with the EQ and PotBS comparison. Really, if both those going to a ftp model works out, I'd say there could be heavy consideration. |

SoE will likely give it the axe, as it will cease to be a money machine for them. Technically, though, SWGEMU.com is a F2P SwG. |

Most of the DCUO Devs (12+) are former SWG Devs. My best guess is that they'll move a few Devs off DCUO, once it launches, and back to SWG for the conversion. For a few weeks worth of work, they'll make sure SWG is a F2P option for the release of SW:ToR. They lose nothing by making it F2P (I assume it'll be EQ2X style - new servers) and without SWG, SoE is worthless (IMHO). Lucas Arts put SoE on the map. EQ was a fine game, but WoW destroyed it. STAR WARS has been SoE's only redeeming title and one of the few names that stands out on their corporate list of "titles". Arguably DCUO will have a similar NAME appeal, but the early reviews and the fact it's a console game don't lead me to believe it'll have any longevity. The Agency is unknown and after the APB fiasco, Smedley has to be crapping himself over that game. My point is...I don't think SoE can afford to close SWG - the name and affiliation with Lucas Arts and "Star Wars" has given Smedley a name in this industry, not the quality or success of his games nor the brilliance of his designs. Making it F2P is almost a necessity to keep it going and I think it's a step SoE (Smed) NEEDS to take to stay relevant. |

The 6k paying subs they have now, will continue to pay for the "premium" access. Hell...I bet they'll pay upwards of $20 a month if you toss in random "loot" or free TCG card picks for "Ultra Premium" members. Let em pay the $15 a month now for everything they currently get and for $5 more they get an extra toon per server and double TCG packs every month. |

Ok so SWG made the company so why would they get rid of it. I hope they do it like runes of magic and make it all free with just a items store that will have specials from time to time. In My World It's Kill Or Be Killed |
