SWG has been through a lot of changes in five years ... some good, most not so good. However, it IS improving with every update.

So, if you are curious about SWG, please take my advice, ignore both "hater" and "fanboi" alike, download the trial and see for yourself.  

The trial can be downloaded from http://www.tryswg.com and make sure you play long enough to make it off the newbie station. The newbie station is *not* representative of the game as a whole.

Thank you. I should have mentioned that.

My suggestion is that people download the client from Fileplanets site. Because ive had issues downloading the client from their site when i did actually want to retry my vet account :p

Just a heads up for those who wants to try the NGE.

My serious opinion is DONT USE MMORPG.COM FOR A GAME OPINION

Someone will usually bash every game on this site, best thing to do is look for a trial like everyone above me has said and try it yourself.

My advice is to listen to those you feel inclined to listen to, and don't listen to those whom you don't. Try it if you'd like to, but there are some honest voices here and some dishonest ones. As an individual with the capacity to reason and discern, it is up to you in your liberty to choose wisely.

There are many propagandists on both sides. Just remember one side has SONY's substantial resources behind them, the other side is just made up of individuals who for one reason or another, either do not like the game or the companies that produced it.

If no one can be trusted here, does that include you? If so, why sould they take your advice?

 

LOL, that was my thought too...sounds like we should ignore any advice given by kobie173, since he is dishonest and can't be trusted.

Yeah people won't experience how bad the game is until they get down to Tatooine.

The truth is, if you are wanting a new mmo and are coming from one like, WOW, LOTR, EQ2 or any of the other one's that are made in the same mold, it won't take you very long to see that not only does all those other games are much better with the hampster on the wheel lvl/class systems, they also have many more people playing.

You will also see that those other game devs don't change the combat system every other month, and make you have to relearn everything over and over.

So if you are interested in playing SWG remember this, SWG does everything that those other mmo's do, just 10 times worse. Long gone are the days when the game was innovative, cutting edge and actually stood head and shoulders above the rest.

10/10 on what you just said, its all personal prefference though, i have to play a level/class game although i preffer they mix it up at some point with duel classing or something.

Sad to see so many bitter people concerning this game, if kobie is who i think he is he's a good dude.  If you wanna try a Sci-fi MMO try the free trial, it's free and you might find some enjoyment.  To the guy that posted not to trust etc etc, if you had paid attention to the overall tone of his post you wouldn't have made your statement, he's not posting as a fan just a dude saying try it instead of listening to the bitter guys.

If people on this forum are not to be trusted, then that would include him. I paid VERY careful attention to his post and that is why I posted what I did.

I personally believe MANY people here are to be trusted, from all sides; he does not. His own viewpoint is self-contradictory and collapses within itself logically; if you had paid careful attention to my post, and its overall tone, you would have understood that.

The fact is, if a game has so many 'bitter' (your word, not mine) guys posting about it, chances are the game stinks. If a game was good and getting better all the time, there wouldn't be so many 'bitter' guys posting about how bad it is.
