You need to read my post again because I think you did not pay attn. to the title it says 3 days into my return since NGE,That means 3 days I am still in and around Mos Eisley and yes there are people everywhere in these areas. Now I have been in game for a little over a week now and I plan on reposting another opinion soon. After you leave Tattoine the population is more sparse than the beginning levels and I plan to comment on this later on. Now stick with the topic which was 3 days into the game:P
I am on topic with absolute precision. Whether its 5mins or 5 years into the game the cold hard truth is Bloddfin server is barren, its should be renamed to Tumbleweed. Mos Eisley has, if your lucky, 20-30 players running around. You really think that is alot of players? Thats about 1/8th the size of a good guild!! Pull your head out of the Tatooine sand and face reality kid, Bloodfin is like an old ladies womb, barren and useless.
I would disagree with you here you obviously are not playing the game now and probably still bitter over what SOE did,but There are way more than 20-30 people in and around Mos Eisley. I have been doing the Legacy quests all day and I see people all over the place. Today at Jabba's Palace alone there were around 15-20 people questing there. Look this game is still far from what it used to be and I agree the nge ui sucks ,but the dev team has done a good job with what I am sure was a corp. directive. The Legacy quests are fun in themselves and I have enjoyed myself for the short time I plan on staying. I really do think if they at least rolled back to cu or pre-cu ui the game would have a real chance at coming back even with the eight classes. |

Don't think I play now?? wow, man, you really have no idea who your talking to. Tell you what, my char name is Fouvo. Bloodfin server....meet me in game, I challenge you to show me these huge numbers of players your talking about. I have 368 million credits and I'll fork over a cool 100mil, if you can't you have to shout server wide that you are my biotch and play with Jabba's tool on demand!! this is a serious offer, bring it on biotch!!
Sure soon as you point out where I sad there were huge amounts of players. I said there were players everywhere running around your the one adding to it like there should be hundreds and thousands lol.I know I am talking to a guy who cannot read you say I said there are huge numbers I said I see them everywhere I go learn to read and then come back and talk your trash. |

Any logical human realizes that all of the SWG servers, in comparison to active MMOs are considerably dead. It isn't that difficult to see. Bloodfin MIGHT reach 75 active players at peak hours. That's dead. |

The last chapter screwed Bounty Hunters so bad that many quit. If you don't want to be hunted by a Bounty Hunter you just uncheck a box....how retarded is that. |

You think thats retarded look at what wow is doing with the arena gear. Seems like each season they are adding previous season gear to the bgs for anyone to get with ease. Whats the purpose of arena play if all they are going to do is give the gear you earn to the battleground cave campers? LOL |

Thank the real SWG vets for keeping other games from getting the NGE treatment. |

You might want to rethink your quote under your name that says thank the real swg vets The constant spamming and complaining on the forums about pre-cu helped bring the nge about imo. I remember playing the game when it launched and loved it the way it was,but still on the forums you found players complaining about the game not feeling like star wars and that some classes were over powered etc. SOE took it to the extreme when they brought the nge. Let me make 1 think clear here I do not like or approve the NGE ,nore do I approve of what soe did I am just a bored player right now checking this game out and I have found the quests to be enjoyable enough to keep me here for awhile the Interface sucks bad,but the rest of the game is better and I am sure there are folks who agree and disagree. 1 thing is for sure the damage done to this game has been done and if measures are not taken I have no dought when the new star wars mmo comes and will this game will probably shut-down. I really wonder if this is the true reason no further expansions have been announced for this game because they know they have another on the way. |

I played SWG on Naritus server and EQ2 since beta...... I have played WoW and i have played numerous other games in the last 5 to 7 yrs. SWG has had major sucess and major defeat. Its only the fault of the DEV team and the controlers of the said game who in most die hard Star Wars fans have found to be wronged. Yes SOE screwed up the timeline.....Yes SOE ruined a great and possibley a far reaching game.... But I will say this...I have played games with far worse happen to them. I miss Earth&Beyond....I thought that was gonna be a great game. Look at it now....gone. SWG still has the potential it once had....Hey I agree with the Pre-CU and Combat-Revamp people. I am not impressed with how one of most favorite games turned out. But I still play SWG from time to time just to see what is going on. The only game which annoyed me enough to actually delete my account and throw the game into the trash was WoW. I still have an active account in EQ2...... which i have to find games cards for unfortunately..... The point is that a game may be found lacking by its creators and they feel it needs something different..... They felt this way with SWG.... Its gonna happen to most of the games out there at one time or another. Its a way of gaming. Yes....we dont like it but its gonna happen anyway until we ourselves start making games the way they should be done or.......we finally decide to agree with our spouses.....girlfriends.....family.....friends.....and ourselves and say..... "Ok...I think I am too old for this now.".......... I cant beleive i just told myself to grow up ** Shudders** |

Just to address this specific portion of your post. Stepping back from the specific area of 'game development' and looking at a more generic 'software development', it is simply crazy for a company to change a live product in such a drastic manner and no company I have worked for has done such a thing. When the product was deemed lacking, a patch or service release might be issued. If a product was found to be missing something substantial, well..that went into the next version of the product. Looking at PreCU/NGE and current day SWG, they share a similar skin and some similar concepts, but the NGE should have been a major revision release and therefore should have had either it's own servers to run on (leaving preCU/CU version on other servers) or a significant amount of communication that said major revision was coming. So, not to argue whether the NGE was good or bad, but merely discussing development practices, what took place was not "the way of gaming" as I have experienced it. Maybe I have just had really good luck on that front. |
