So it was a LOT more than half a month of subscription money they essentially stole from the customers.

SOE knew full well that if they told us about the NGE when they began coding it that most of us would quit that month, so they kept it a secret.  Doesn't take much intelligence to figure that one out.

Had SOE told us "hey gang we've decided to revamp the entire game" we likely would have quit immediately. So instead SOE decided to lie to us for the 6 months+ the NGE was being worked on to keep us paying.

Whenever a jedi player would ask "hey when is FRS coming back ?" the reply wasnt "never" it was "soon" This clearly was done to keep taking our money.

If the 200,000 had prior warning and quit, SOE would have had to pay the NGE costs out of their own pockets. So Smedly decides why not lie and get the players to pay for the new game. And a couple of years later Smedly thinks a flimsy apology will make things all better lol ??? The only thing Smedly was sorry for was that his sleazly ploy didnt get the wow numbers he predicted. He certainly wasnt sorry for screwing over the players and stealing our money.

And make no mistake, SOE admitted publicly they knew the majority of players would quit over the NGE. Therefore keeping the NGE  a secret was clearly an act of THEFT.

How can the current players justify playing this game ? Or a better question, why would you trust them not to do it again ???

I completely agree. SOE did completely screw us. I mean, I payed from 2003 to Nov 2005. Normally, when you pay these fees, you expect to be paying for what your getting plus updates (meaning fixes, and additional content). Never would people say, "Yes, I'll pay $15 a month, please make sure you change the game twice in one year and make my current accomplishments worthless."

Ya, I'm sure thats what people would be saying.

But, not 3 years after the whole mess, I just miss playing an an sw mmo. I miss what i had. Please, the people that go around telling people to get a life, TRUST ME I HAVE A LIFE!!!!!  But, swg was a way to relex for me in my down time. I no longer have that, and I yearn for something like it. Thats why I want to retry it. Not even thinking about what SOE did 3 years ago, and might do again. I'm probably making a big mistake, but I need to play a sw mmo LOL

 Since this 30 days free does not include a free transfer to another server ,I really don't want to go back to Kauri to run into about 20 peeps and 18 of them speak only in French.   PASS!

Finally, SOE wouldnt refund our money for prepaid accounts. I had 8 months left on two accounts for Star Wars Galaxies. SOE threw my game in the trash then expected me to be happy to have paid for a new product. We deserved a refund. I didnt buy a quasi-fps beta stage game.

The interesting thing was that you have been actively playing on Chilastra again recently.  I've seen you logging in pretty much daily, posting on the Chilastra forums looking for items to buy in game (like the exceptional milk and eggs), posting lfg threads for heroics and posting all over the GPD forum (one of which was a copy-paste of what you posted on these forums...).

yeah I did go back for two weeks on a free vet trial. I certainly wouldnt pay for SWG. And I got zero responses when trying to buy resources to dabble in chef crafting. 99% of the players I ran across are pvp lootbags who dont even know that eggs and milk exist.

Nice try though Obraik. Cant argue with the fact that SOE stole money so lets attack the messenger rather than the message.

My house is paid up for 700 days, long enough to ensure it will be there when they shut the game down for good. And I'll be back to say good riddance once last time.

I got 1-2 days left on my trial, stop by and see my in Mos Eisely. Im the one spamming in protest that SOE stole our game....enjoy. Course knowing you, Ill get reported for ruining your experience

Where did you read there were 30 days free for vets? How long must one be away from the game to be eligible?
