Originally posted by darquenblade I have looked into that as well. Based on what Bioware's devs have stated on their forums, I tend to believe its going to be linear-quest based game with a deep story line. That translates to me as nothing like SWG pre-cu. Those guys made reference to world of warcraft several times praising features of that game. So odds are it will have similiarities to World of Warcraft. I just hope they can take the best of KOTOR and combine it with elements of an open seamless world with lots of freedom like pre-cu offered. I loved pre-cu. I found parts of WoW enjoyable enough to play it for 2 yrs (on and off). I see no reason why a combo of the two wouldnt work (if thats what theyre doing) I just hope it isnt anything like Age of Conan. That game took the linear elements and instancing to the extreme. |

Originally posted by admriker4 Ok, honest question. Did you do the dumpster diving to prove yourself right on official forums or were you employed in a capacity where you were on assignment to get to the bottom of the story? For the record, I never take developer words on anything especially when they make a statement like, "we'll never work with LA on another project." Ya, right. If George Lucas wants to pay Bioware $100 million to make them the next Star Wars MMORPG, Bioware is gonna jump all over that money. |

Originally posted by Shannia Actually the attachment theory you reference likely originates with Bowlby. Freud's stages of pyscho-sexual development were skewed by his refusal to take reports of sexual abuse at face value. Masters and Johnson did the once famous, now out-dated survey of sexual practices, using what is widely believed to have been an unrepresentative sample of the general population. Still some of their pioneering efforts yielded data that helped address some forms of sexual dysfunction. I think it's probably more helpful to leave psychoanalysis to someone who has actually met the OP. Your manner of addressing him comes across as condescending, not helpful, in my opinion. Maybe you had his best interest at heart, but it doesn't come across that way, to me at least. Frankly everyone has a deep need for acceptance in my experience. If the OP thought that need would be met here, I'm sure he now knows better. Maybe he's just wanting to show people that their criticism of his earlier post was unwarranted? Beats me, probably like you, I've never met the guy. Don't even know if he's a guy actually lol. As for news about KOTOR 3, I'll be keeping my ears open. My kids are just finishing KOTOR 2, and we've all enjoyed the series very much. Gotta love former employees who leak things to the public :)

Originally posted by ArcAngel3 Exactly my point. That is why I said some analysis is needed. I'm not into the social sciences and I don't pretend to be. My concern is for the OP and his/her need for acceptance on the forums. That is why I made a follow-up question as to his/her need to see the task through. I do not doubt the OP's need for acceptance at all. We all need acceptance. However, unless I'm dumpster diving for my employer, I don't think I'd ever consider doing that to prove myself right for a hobby. Seriously, dumpster diving to prove a point. Depending on the jurisdiction, a person could get sued for dumpster diving. You also have your health to think about. Think of tetnus from scratches just getting in and out of the dumpster. Then you have who knows what you can catch from the animals that crawl in and out of dumpsters. To top that off, you never know if someone with AIDS dumped their needles into the dumpster and you could prick yourself on accident. The list goes on. I could be wrong here, but unless you are a professional, I don't believe you'd have the necessary gear to protect yourself for anything that could pop up with dumpster diving just to prove a point. Is it that important to be accepted in society that you'd put yourself at risk to that level just to prove yourself right for a hobby? |

Frankly, I applaud his actions and tenacity. While he may be a maverick and on certain occasions, we have not seen eye to eye - still he has done what many forum posters or people with a cause will not do. Instead on sitting on his butt yapping away about what other people post and preach, he went out a did it. Its easy to be an armchair quarterback and tout so called "insider knowledge" via second or third hand info. Its much harder to actually gather info and research it. Digging in dumpsters? Yeah, its not for me but I will shake the hand (after sanitizing it) of the man who actually is willing to go to such lengths for information. He deserves his due. /Cheers Darn shame, it will be a child of WoW, though. |

Originally posted by Mokwee Well, since you ask for corrections if you're wrong, figured I'd tell you. Believe it or not, trash is still the property of it's owner. In fact, you can be arrested for "dumpster diving" and even theft if you are caught and the owner presses charges. Of course, this is here in California, your mileage may vary. Also, for those bringing up that bioware swore to never work with LA again, Bioware is not its own company now. Bioware is EA, and EA never said anything about never working with LA. Bioware makes no decision on whom they work for or with now. |

well, I never doubted you, I took your statements as always quite plausable and it looks like ya might end up being right. Good work either way. |
