Yeah that's also a problem, I reinstalled when they did the vet trial after chapter 6, loaded in, ran outside my house killed the firstt hing I saw to try the combat and looted a "Padded belt of the Bantha" or some such shit, I actually logged out and uninstalled there and then.

A mind is like a parachute, it only works when it is OPEN. -

It's really no different now that it was in pre-cu, the weaponsmith crafts the weapon, the "special stuff" comes from random loot drops the health and action modifiers and the crit chance part. In the pre-cu period combat players would get Krayt tissues, Ackley bones and such to improve a crafted weapon, it's no different today other than where you get your "special stuff". The drops are random and the best drops do happen in the instances (you can get a 30 crit there and a max of 25 outside the instances it seems). The difference between the two is a +25 works out to a 2.5% crit chance increase and the 30 is 3.0% increase.

The fact that the weaponsmith can select the elemental type (acid, heat, cold, electricity) with the different mods is what restores the weaponsmith to the top of the food chain in weapons.

Pre-CU, you couldn't play through the game without buying anything from a crafter.  Currently, you can subsist totally on looted gear.  Unless you feel the need to Min/Max your equipment, you never need to buy anything from another player.  You can play the entire current game without using crafted gear.  You couldn't do that in the old version without having crafting skill in your template.

Again, I have to say that you're either being intentionally dishonest, or you never actually played the game pre-NGE.

Unless you want to be a ship pilot..

The last time i tried the game, I went through the first tier of pilot, and then I needed a new ship to do the second tier missions, only problem was, I couldn't find one (in the entire galaxy), so i tried leveling my toon for a couple of days, checked again, still couldn't find a new fighter in the entire galaxy.

So you are wrong, you can't play the entire game without purchasing from a player, especially if no other players are making the things you need.

Last time I tried it you didn't need a credit card. Just make sure you play long enough to get off the newbie station and down to Tatooine. The newbie station is *not* representative of the game as a whole.
